The predictive coding theory, although a well-supported framework for understanding brain processing, remains elusive regarding how different brain rhythms contribute to error prediction and modify the a priori probabilities of predictive events. This study addresses this issue by analyzing Event-Related Spectral Perturbations (ERSP) generated during an auditory oddball paradigm presented in both a passive and active condition. The design involved sequences of four tones, where the last tone was either predictable (standard, S), completing the scale, or less predictable (deviant, D) when the first tone was occasionally repeated.

Objectives: The present study aimed to assess whether Time-Restricted Feeding (TRF) modulates inflammation and hepatic Notch1 signalling in C57BL/6J-aged mice.

Methods: Adult mice submitted to the ad libitum diet, aged (24 months-old) submitted to the ad libitum diet and, aged-TRF (24 months-old) subjected to the TRF (12 hours fed in the active cycle and 12 hours fasting in the light cycle) for 8 weeks. We investigated metabolic parameters, liver histology, metabolic-dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease activity score, collagen fiber, hepatic mitochondrial respiration, and publicly available liver Rna-seq datasets from human livers in diverse clinical conditions to clarify Notch1 involvement in liver health.

Insulin regulates glucose uptake and metabolism in muscle via the insulin receptor. Here we show that Lrtm1 (Leucine Rich Repeats and Transmembrane Domains 1), a protein of unknown function enriched in insulin-responsive metabolic tissues, senses changes in insulin signaling in muscle and serves as a regulator of metabolic response. Thus, whole-body Lrtm1 deficient mice exhibit a reduced the percentage of fat mass, increased percentage of lean mass, and enhanced glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity compared to control mice, under both chow and high fat diet conditions.
