VO is a promising phase change material offering a large contrast of electric, thermal, and optical properties when transitioning from semiconductor to metallic phase. Here we show that a hybrid metamaterial obtained by proper combination of a VO layer and a nanodisk gold array provides a tunable plasmonic gap resonance in the infrared range. Specifically, we have designed and fabricated a metal-insulator-metal gap resonance by inserting sub-wavelength VO film between a flat gold layer and a gold nanodisk resonator array.

SEIRA spectroscopy, supported by MD simulations, reveals structural differences in the compactness and hydration of helical motifs between active and inactive EGFR conformations models. These findings provide novel insights into the biophysical mechanisms driving EGFR activation and drug resistance, offering a robust method for studying emerging EGFR mutations and their structural impacts on TKIs' efficacy.

Objectives: To investigate the determinants of resilience phenotype in aging, operationalized as the maintenance of cognitive, physical, and psychological health in very old individuals (80+), we investigated the structure and interrelated impact of the main resilience-enhancing factors, which are usually studied in separate research fields.
Methods: Participants were older adults without dementia recruited for the fifth wave of the InveCe.Ab population-based cohort study (aged 83-87 years).

The main proteases M are a group of highly conserved cysteine hydrolases in β-coronaviruses. They have been demonstrated to play an unavoidable role in viral replication, and consequently they have been suggested as key targets for treating coronavirus-caused infectious diseases, mainly from the COVID-19 epidemic. Since the most functional form for M enzymatic activity is associated to its homodimer, compounds inhibiting dimerization should also inhibit catalytic activity.

Among them, out-of-plane lattice resonances, for which the nanostructures are polarized in the direction perpendicular to the array, are particularly interesting since their unique configuration minimizes radiative losses. Consequently, these modes present extremely high quality factors and field enhancements that make them ideal for a wide range of applications.
