Aim: This systematic review aimed to report on health outcomes of newborn babies admitted to special care nurseries up to age 1 year, and where possible, compare their outcomes with those of healthy term babies.

Methods: Systematic searches through Ovid MEDLINE, PubMed and Embase databases. We included studies reporting outcomes up to age 1 year for special care nursery babies and moderate-late preterm babies, restricting to studies published after 2000.

Purpose: Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) due to their aggressive nature, pose challenges in achieving optimal local control (LC) rates following surgery. Brachytherapy offers precise delivery of high radiation doses to target tissues, potentially enhancing LC rates. This feasibility study explored the efficacy of perioperative high-dose-rate brachytherapy (PHDRB) and external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) in improving LC rates for STS, with a particular focus on interstitial brachytherapy and dose escalation strategies for high-risk patient sub-groups.

Nontuberculous mycobacterial surgical site infections (SSIs) have a distinct course of disease with diagnosis and treatment presenting challenges. Thirty-seven patients who underwent various procedures and then developed late SSI due to nontuberculous mycobacteria included in this case series. Samples were sent for diagnosis.
