A significant increase in Parvovirus B 19 (B19V) infections has been reported in the last months in some European countries. This outbreak could be highly detrimental for pregnant women, considering the capacity of the virus to harm the fetus. However, the magnitude and spread of this outbreak is yet unclear.

CTNND1-Related Disorder: New Insight on Prenatal Phenotype.

CTNND1 is a gene located in 11q12.1, encoding for p120 catenin, a protein involved in maintaining adherent junctions, regulating the epithelial-mesenchymal transition, and transcriptional signaling of different cellular pathways. Pathogenic variants in CTNND1 are classically associated with isolated cleft palate and Blefaro-cheilo-dontic syndrome, an autosomal dominant condition characterized by abnormalities of the eyelid.

Pregnancy is characterized by a delicate immune balance; therefore, infectious diseases might increase the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes (APOs). Here, we hypothesize that pyroptosis, a unique cell death pathway mediated by the NLRP3 inflammasome, could link SARS-CoV-2 infection, inflammation, and APOs. Perinatal outcome of monochorionic triamniotic triplet pregnancy: multicenter cohort study.
