Untreated women with first trimester fasting glycaemia 92-125 mg/dL and risk of gestational diabetes mellitus in the 24-28th week OGTT: prevalence and predictors.

Introduction: Women with first trimester fasting glycaemia (FTFG) 92-125 mg/dL may present with normal 24-28th week OGTT (2T-OGTT). Predictors of persistent hyperglycaemia were scarcely investigated. We studied the prevalence and predictors of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in the 2T-OGTT in women with untreated elevated FTFG.

Psychological burden and its correlates in patients with chronic plaque psoriasis attending three tertiary care centers in Sri Lanka.

Psoriasis is associated with psychological distress among the affected due to unsightly skin lesions, chronicity and the cultural and social stigma linked with the disease. The pathophysiological link between psoriasis and depression creates a vicious cycle in the skin and brain axis. This study evaluates the psychological comorbidity of patients with chronic plaque psoriasis (CPP).

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation for fibromyalgia: are we there yet?

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has increasingly been used to modify cortical maladaptive plastic changes shown to occur in fibromyalgia (FM) and to correlate with symptoms. Evidence for its efficacy is currently inconclusive, mainly due to heterogeneity of stimulation parameters used in trials available to date. Here, we reviewed the current evidence on the use of rTMS for FM control in the format of a narrative review, in which a systematic dissection of the different stimulation parameters would be possible.

Plant proteins have gained market prominence due to their sustainable origin, economic value and health benefits. Well-established plant proteins in the market, such as those of soy and pea, have various applications as ingredients in the food industry.

Transgenderism in studies on the health of older adults: a systematic review.

Objective: To describe how transgenderism is studied in research on the health of older adults.

Methods: This was a systematic literature review, with searches conducted in September 2022 across the LILACS, MEDLINE/ PubMed, Embase, Web of Science and Scopus databases. The articles were selected independently by two reviewers.
