Aim: To study relationship between age-associated changes of heart rate variability (HRV), telomere length (TL), and lowering of insulin sensitivity (IS).

Material And Methods: We included in this study 229 individuals aged 23‒91 years without clinical manifestations of cardiovascular and other somatic diseases. In all participants, we analyzed HRV parameters obtained at 24-hour ECG monitoring (24-h ECG) and 5 minutes ECG recordings in the supine and standing positions.

Objective: To establish the pathomorphological features of the structure and morphogenesis of the myocardium, fetal cardiac communications in neonatal infants and babies in sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

Subjects And Methods: One hundred and three babies less than 1 year of age who had died from SIDS at home in 2004-2012 were examined using macroscopic examination of their hearts, by separately weighing their cavities on an electron balance; histological examination of specimens stained with hematoxylin and eosin, as well as with picrofuxin by the van Gieson or Nissl technique; immunohistochemical examination applying neurofilament markers; alkaline cardiomyocyte dissociation test; morphometric study of cardiac chambers, by calculating the ventricular index, measuring the area of a nucleus and cytoplasm of isolated cardiomyocytes by means of a Video-Test-Morpho computer unit; and statistical data processing.

Results: There was a height/heart growth imbalance manifesting as a forward cardiac mass increment, as well as discoordination of an increase in right and left ventricular masses.

The paper describes one case of the mixed form of mucoviscidosis, with involvement of the lung (chronic obstructive bronchitis, bronchiectasis, emphysema, pneumosclerosis), liver (cirrhosis), pancreas (lipomatosis with islet atrophy), ileum (enteritis). There were the following complications: cor pulmonale, esophageal varicose veins, ascitis, splenomegaly, secondary diffuse renal amyloidosis of the kidney, adrenals, and spleen, and brain edema. Due to modern therapy the patient reached the age of 25 years, which is a rarity.

Orthostatic tolerance after 7-day dry immersion and head-to-feet acceleration was investigated on test subjects with and without an antigravity suit of bladderless type. With the suit on, the 20 min tilt test at 70 degrees prior to immersion induced less marked changes than without the suit. When the suit was on, cardiovascular reactions to tilt tests after immersion and acceleration improved.
