Systematic review - Adjuvant radiotherapy of the vulva in primary vulvar cancer.

Objective: Adjuvant radiotherapy to the vulva in vulvar squamous cell carcinoma (VSCC) is frequently performed albeit strong evidence is lacking. This systematic review aims to summarize the current literature on this topic.

Methods: 19 retrospective studies were included and analyzed, focusing on the primary outcome of local recurrence.

Background: Ginger, a root originating in Southeast Asia, has several therapeutic benefits to human health, including antioxidant activity. Currently, there are discussions regarding the hypoglycemic properties of dietary supplements derived from its phenolic compounds in the management of chronic diseases. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic and complex disease that requires continuous treatment, with glycemic control being decisive in the management of hyperglycemia.

6th and 7th International consensus guidelines for the management of advanced breast cancer (ABC guidelines 6 and 7).

This manuscript describes the Advanced Breast Cancer (ABC) international consensus guidelines updated at the last two ABC international consensus conferences (ABC 6 in 2021, virtual, and ABC 7 in 2023, in Lisbon, Portugal), organized by the ABC Global Alliance. It provides the main recommendations on how to best manage patients with advanced breast cancer (inoperable locally advanced or metastatic), of all breast cancer subtypes, as well as palliative and supportive care. These guidelines are based on available evidence or on expert opinion when a higher level of evidence is lacking.

Cochlear measurement in computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging data sets by the Otoplan measurement tool: a retrospective comparative study.

Background: Using Otoplan software, it is possible to measure the cochlea before cochlear implant surgery. Until now, computed tomography (CT) of the cochlea has been necessary for this purpose. The aim of this study was to find out whether measuring the cochlea with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using Otoplan is possible with the same accuracy.

Learning to Lead: An Exploration of Leadership Development in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Despite the demonstrated value of leadership in medicine, there is limited research on how physicians develop leadership skills. We administered a national survey (225 respondents) and conducted eight interviews of residents, fellows, and staff physicians in obstetrics and gynaecology to explore leadership skill development. Most (87%) positively rated the effectiveness of their leadership skills; however, the majority (98%) stated they would benefit from further training.
