Negatively charged ions from the alpha particle tracks are detected by the discharge wire counter opened to the air. Ion clusters are transferred from the particle tracks to the detector volume by an air flux. It allows a remote detection of very low concentrations of alpha particles.

The clinical course of the postoperative period of diffuse peritonitis with cytoflavin included in intensive therapy is characterized by shorter terms of artificial lung ventilation, shorter time of staying in critical condition, more favorable course of complications.

In an open-label, randomized study, controlled release free (chemically unmodified) recombinant human IFN-α(2b) in poly(ether-ester) microspheres (CR-rhIFN-α(2b)), was injected at doses of 160, 320, 480 or 640 μg every 2 weeks for 12 weeks with concomitant weight-based oral ribavirin in 32 treatment-naïve patients with chronic HCV genotype 1. Treatment was well tolerated, with 31 patients (97%) successfully completing the study.

The simulations of the spatial distribution of rf power absorbed in a helicon ion source reveal a correlation between the depth of penetration of rf power into the plasma and the tilt angle of lines of force of the outer magnetic field. The deeper field penetration and greater power absorption were observed at large tilt angles of the field line to the plasma surface. The evaluations as to the possibility of excitation of helicon waves in compact rf ion sources were performed.
