The operation is performed through two punctures of the cornea with the normal depth of the anterior chamber artificially maintained with physiologic saline supplied via a flat cannula. Through a corneal puncture this cannula is brought under the contralateral edge of iridal defect, elevating this defect beyond the lens, and a needle brought via the other puncture pricks the iris and the needle tip enters the cannula canal. The needle and cannula joined together are brought to the second edge of iridal defect, similarly pricking it, and brought out of the anterior chamber, still joined together.

It was shown that addition of the antibiotic to the solution over one side of the model membrane resulted in generation of electric potential. With increasing of the drug concentration by one order there was observed more than a 10-fold drop in the membrane resistance while the electric capacitance actually remained unchanged.
