[Problems of expert assessment of a case of fatal rupture of the wall of the rudimentary horn of the uterus in ectopic pregnancy].

Recently in the Russian Federation there has been a significant increase in the number of commissions of forensic medical examinations on «medical cases» associated with inappropriate provision of medical care to the population. The problem of investigating such crimes is one of the most difficult tasks facing law enforcement agencies. A special place among them is occupied by examinations related to maternal mortality.

Electron transport in Tradescantia leaves acclimated to high and low light: thermoluminescence, PAM-fluorometry, and EPR studies.

Using thermoluminescence, PAM-fluorometry, and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) for assaying electron transport processes in chloroplasts in situ, we have compared photosynthetic characteristics in Tradescantia fluminensis leaves grown under low light (LL, 50-125 µmol photons m s) or high light (HL, 875-1000 µmol photons m s) condition. We found differences in the thermoluminescence (TL) spectra of LL- and HL-acclimated leaves. The LL and HL leaves show different proportions of the Q (~ 0 °C) and B (~ 25-30 °C) bands in their TL spectra; the ratios of the "light sums" of the Q and B bands being S/S ≈ 1/1 (LL) and S/S ≈ 1/3 (HL).

Slow induction of chlorophyll a fluorescence excited by blue and red light in Tradescantia leaves acclimated to high and low light.

Tradescantia is a good model for assaying induction events in higher plant leaves. Chlorophyll (Chl) fluorescence serves as a sensitive reporter of the functional state of photosynthetic apparatus in chloroplasts. The fluorescence time-course depends on the leaf growth conditions and actinic light quality.

[About the estimation of the possibility of carrying out of several self-inflicted fatal injuries by the victim].

Forensic medical experts are not infrequently faced in their practical work with the question of the possibility of inflicting body injuries by the victim to himself (herself). In such cases, the law-enforcement authorities are in the first place interested not in the possibility of such self-inflicted injuries but rather in the correspondence between the character of the injuries and the circumstances of the event that needs to be objectively established in the course of the forensic medical expertise. The cases of multiple severe self-inflicted injuries in which all the witnesses were one way or another involved in the accident as the participants of the fight with the victim, attract especially close attention and require careful examination.

[IMMUNOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF RECOMBINANT CHIMERIC POLYPEPTIDE OspC(gar+afz) OF BORRELIA GARINIIANIP B. AFZELI ISOLATES].

Aim: Comparative study of antigenic properties of recombinant proteins OsPCgar and OsPCafz and recombinant chimeric polypeptide OspCgar+afrz, that contains amino acid sequences of mature immune dominant OspC proteins of West-Siberian isolates of Borrelia garinii (OspCgar) and B. afzelii (OspCafz), and evaluation of possibility of their use as antigens during creation of test-systems for serodiagnostics of Lyme borreliosis (LB) on the territory of Western Siberia.

Materials And Methods: Recombinant chimeric polypeptide OSpCgar+af, and recombinant mature proteins OSPCgar and OspCafz, obtained by expression of the corresponding genes in Escherichia coli cells; purified by affinity chromatography in Ni-NTA-sepharose CL-6B and studied by EIA method for the ability to bind antibodies from sera of LB patients.
