Revisited TiNbO as an Anode Material for Advanced Li-Ion Batteries.

TiNbO with a tunnel-type structure is considered as a perspective negative electrode material for Li-ion batteries (LIBs) with theoretical capacity of 252 mAh g corresponding to one-electron reduction/oxidation of Ti and Nb, but only ≈160 mAh g has been observed practically. In this work, highly reversible capacity of 200 mAh g with the average (de)lithiation potential of 1.5 V vs Li/Li is achieved for TiNbO with pseudo-2D layered morphology obtained via thermal decomposition of the NHTiNbO intermediate prepared by K→ H→ NH cation exchange from KTiNbO.

The article reports data on the dynamics of blood parameters and parameters of protein, fat, and water-salt metabolism in female starlet × beluga hybrids kept under artificial conditions in the period of reproductive cycle. Gonad maturation in female hybrids in the artificial environment causes clear changes in the biochemistry of blood and of urine.

"Valve"-Type Retainment of Flexible Ureteroscope in the Distal Ureter.

Flexible ureteroscopy (fURS) is an endoscopic procedure for the minimally invasive treatment of ureteral and renal calculi. Due to improvements in technique and ureteroscopic instrumentation over the past two decades, complications associated with URS are infrequent. However, in the event of an unexpected device malfunction or failure, the operating surgeon must employ prompt, resolute decision-making to resolve any intraoperative complications and avoid significant injury to the kidney or ureter.

X-Ray Phase Contrast Tomography Reveals Early Vascular Alterations and Neuronal Loss in a Multiple Sclerosis Model.

The degenerative effects of multiple sclerosis at the level of the vascular and neuronal networks in the central nervous system are currently the object of intensive investigation. Preclinical studies have demonstrated the efficacy of mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), the animal model for multiple sclerosis, but the neuropathology of specific lesions in EAE and the effects of MSC treatment are under debate. Because conventional imaging techniques entail protocols that alter the tissues, limiting the reliability of the results, we have used non-invasive X-ray phase-contrast tomography to obtain an unprecedented direct 3D characterization of EAE lesions at micro-to-nano scales, with simultaneous imaging of the vascular and neuronal networks.

Evaluation of the effect of Bernoulli maneuver on operative time during mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy: A prospective randomized study.

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of 'Bernoulli maneuver' (bringing the access sheath to horizontal plane) on operative time and stone free rates in patients undergoing mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL).

Materials And Methods: All consecutive patients with a solitary kidney stone undergoing a mini-PCNL between 2015 and 2016 were included into this study. Patients were randomized either to standard prone or control (C) group patients or to tilted prone with 'Bernoulli maneuver' group (B) patients.
