Store-operated calcium entry (SOCE) in cardiomyocytes may be involved in cardiac remodeling, but the underlying mechanisms remain elusive. We hypothesized that SOCE may increase nuclear calcium, which alters gene expression via calcium/calmodulin-dependent enzyme signaling, and elucidated the underlying cellular mechanisms. An experimental protocol was established in isolated adult rat cardiomyocytes to elicit SOCE by re-addition of calcium following complete depletion of sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) calcium and to quantify SOCE in relation to the electrically stimulated calcium transient (CaT) measured in the same cell before SR depletion.

Objectives: The growing popularity of diets that restrict the consumption of animal-based foods is an important new challenge for the public healthcare system in Czechia. While the environmental and health-related benefits of plant-based diets are widely discussed in the media, people who follow these diets may lack professional support in terms of nutritional advice and even access to healthcare. The present study aims to map the nutritional practices and experiences with the healthcare system of people in Czechia who follow vegan diets.

Objective: The dependence of result of cognitive training in patients who have suffered an ischemic stroke (IS) on the timing of their onset continues to be discussed. The aim was to study the results of cognitive rehabilitation of patients after IS during various periods after it.
Material And Methods: 140 patients were examined during complex rehabilitation in terms up to 1, 2-3, 4-6 and 7-12 months after IS, 78 of them received drug support (DS) of rehabilitation with intravenous injections of ampasse.

Objective: To develop a method for assessing neurodynamic disorders in the acute period of stroke.
Material And Methods: Sixty-three right-handed patients in the acute period of ischemic stroke (IS) were examined, including 28 patients with IS in the basin of the left middle cerebral artery (LMCA) (group 1), 19 patients with IS in the basin of the right middle cerebral artery (group 2) and 16 patients with IS in the vertebrobasilar system (group 3). The control group consisted of 37 healthy individuals.
