Authors studied 1013 first- and second degree relatives in families of 193 probands. The probands were stratified by clinical diagnosis into 6 groups: 1) nuclear variant of schizoaffective psychosis (SAP); 2) "marginal" (intermediate) variant of SAP; 3) schizoaffective variant of schizophrenia; 4) recurrent schizophrenia; 5) attack-like progressive schizophrenia; 6) bipolar affective disorder or manic-depressive psychosis (MDP). Probands (n=109) and their relatives were studied using the direct clinical examination; the study of 84 probands and their relatives was based on the medical records from the genetic archive of Mental Health Research Center, Russian Academy of Medical Sciences.

Reservation of blood components, done in good time, for autotransfusion to patients being prepared for elective surgery are the method of choice in solution of the tasks of an adequate preoperative preparation of the patients. Using autogenous erythrocytes and plasma increases infective safety and effectiveness of postoperative transfusion therapy. The application of present-day methods of intensive preoperative storage of autohemocomponents and wide using them in every-day medical practice is a necessary condition of the elevation of efficiency of treatment of elective surgical patients.

The results of the studies of 4 Russian research centers are summarized. Tianeptine (coaxil) was used in the treatment of 55 patients with ICD-10 diagnosis of recurrent depressive disorder (F32.1), 50 patients have completely finished the treatment.

An immune sensor based on the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) was developed for express diagnostics of bovine leucosis. The sensor was used for detection of the level of antibodies against bovine leukaemia virus (BLV) in the blood serum. The industrially manufactured BLV antigen for screening test in the agar gel immunodiffusion (AGID) required the additional purification in order to be used in immune sensor analysis.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe approaches to the problems of primary diagnostics of the hereditary hematoglobinopathias caused by unbalanced synthesis of alpha and beta chains, as well as modern state of screening of hereditary thalassemic hematoglobinopathias are considered. The result of the available information analysis takes into account numerous peculiarities of this problem, including economic ones. Experience of an estimation of the displays of unbalanced synthesis of globin chains concerning the morphology of red blood cells is presented in the generalized form.
