There was made a determination of the correlation relationships (CR) between indices of physical and sexual development (SD) of 1997 adolescents aged from 11 years 6 months to 17 years 5 months 29 days residing in the industrial center of the Southern Urals characterized by high levels of air pollution (API 7-13). Benzo(a)pyrene and formaldehyde contribute the greatest part to air pollution. The level of SD, time of appearance of secondary sexual characteristics was revealed to be interrelated with the pace of physical development of adolescents, regardless of the gender Children with an accelerated pace of physical development (macrosomatotype) are characterized by advancing sexual development and the earlier appearance of secondary sexual characteristics.

Microwave magnetoresonance therapy (MMT) was performed in 50 preschool children who had frequent respiratory infections. The assessment of local antiinfectious defense factors registered a significant decrease in the total number of circulating immune complexes (CIC) with disappearance of small CIC; enhancement of total complementory activity and C2, C4-fragments of the complement indicating activation of mucosa of the mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue inductive zone providing specific antibacterial defense of the upper respiratory tract.

As many as 249 children (age range 1 month--3 years) with acute pneumonia admitted to the department for intensive care were examined for the hemocoagulation system. Three types of changes were revealed: hypercoagulation associated with low fibrinolytic activity, coagulopathy of consumption, and hypocoagulation coupled with active fibrinolysis. The time course of changes in the blood serum content of total lipids (TL), nonesterified fatty acids (NEFA), triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC) and beta-lipoproteins (beta-LP), caused by neonatal thymectomy (NTE), was investigated in neonatally thymectomized and in sham-operated rats aged 15, 30, 45 days, 2, 3 and 5 months. TL were significantly increased on days 15, 30, 45 and 60 after operation; their level in 3- and 5-month-old rats was already normal. In control rats, NEFA level increased with age; their level in NTE rats was significantly higher on days 15, 30, 45 and 60 after thymectomy.

Investigation is made and data given for the rising generation from III and IV class trained for the specialty "operator-power technician". Studies are carried out on a number of properties of the Central Nervous Activity and the analyzers, some functions of attention, as well as specific personal characteristics of 44 professionally suitable and 21 professionally unsuitable schoolchildren. The results of the comparative analysis of the experimental material, and the received correlation relation of the incidences with the external criteria "success in the mastering of the profession" give grounds to accept that the high versatility of the basic nervous processes, the capacity for concentration, resistance and swiftness in switching the attention, the low personal uneasiness and expressed emotional stability are of professional importance and determine the possibility for success in mastering the profession "operator-power technician".

The influence of neonatal thymectomy on the number of thrombocytes, bone-marrow megakaryocytes (MKC) and activity of plasa thrombocytopoietin(TP) was studied in male rats 60 days after the manipulation--under normal and extreme (acute thromobocytopenia) conditions. It was established that under normal conditions neonatal thymectomy (NT) diminished the number of thromobocytes, the percentage of incorporated 75 selenomethionine in newly formed thromobocytes, the total number of MKC and their single stages--I, II, III, IV. The activity of plasma TP was not changed in normally thymectomized rats under normal condition, while in comparison with sham thymectomized rats, while it was considerably higher in acute thrombocytopenia.

Arterial thrombus formation was induced in male and female Wistar rats (3 mo) by inserting a loop-shaped polyethylene cannula into the abdominal aorta. Thrombogenesis was also induced in mature male and female New Zealand rabbits by constriction of the femoral artery and injection of ellagic acid. The criteria for thrombus development in the cannulated rats were: incidence of thrombosis (IT), obstruction time (OT), and thrombus weight (TW).
