vNOTES as a salvage method for adnexectomy and high uterosacral ligament suspension after vaginal hysterectomy under epidural anesthesia: A feasibility and safety study.

Objective: To evaluate the feasibility and safety of transvaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) for performing adnexectomy and high uterosacral ligament suspension (HUSLS) after vaginal hysterectomy (VH) under epidural anesthesia.

Method: This was a retrospective case series of 42 women who underwent VH for stage II or greater apical prolapse according to pelvic organ prolapse quantification (POP-Q); however, adnexectomy could not performed and replace the vNOTES technique. The procedure continued with vNOTES adnexectomy and bilateral HUSLS under epidural anesthesia.

The Atlas of Protein-Protein Interactions in Cancer (APPIC)-a webtool to visualize and analyze cancer subtypes.

Cancer is a complex disease with heterogeneous mutational and gene expression patterns. Subgroups of patients who share a phenotype might share a specific genetic architecture including protein-protein interactions (PPIs). We developed the Atlas of Protein-Protein Interactions in Cancer (APPIC), an interactive webtool that provides PPI subnetworks of 10 cancer types and their subtypes shared by cohorts of patients.

Daily Activity Patterns and Overlap Activity of Medium-Large Mammals in Sülüklü Lake Nature Park, Western Black Sea Region, Türkiye.

Türkiye, due to its position as a bridge between Asia and Europe, encompassing three distinct biogeographic regions and its diverse climatic conditions and geographical features, exhibits the characteristics of a small continent in terms of biodiversity, hosting a very high number of mammalian species. However, information on these mammals' activity patterns and co-occurrence, specifically in Türkiye, is limited. Our study aimed to reveal the daily activity patterns and temporal overlaps of mammalian species detected using camera traps in Sülüklü Lake Nature Park.

Background: Food protein-induced allergic proctocolitis (FPIAP) typically develops in infancy, a critical period for taste preference and feeding skill development. Eliminating culprit foods, along with limited food options and the child's distressing symptoms, can significantly impact the mothers' parenting roles. However, research on behavioral feeding problems and parenting stress in toddlers with FPIAP is lacking.

The Impact of Intermittent Hypoxia-Hyperoxia Therapy on Metabolism and Respiratory System in Obese Patients as Part of Comprehensive Medical Rehabilitation.

Introduction Obesity is a complex condition characterized by excessive accumulation of body fat, which can have multiple causes, including genetic factors, inadequate diet, lack of physical exercise, and socioeconomic factors. Obesity can cause significant respiratory changes, so obese patients present pulmonary complications more frequently than individuals with normal weight. Improving respiratory function is an important aspect of obesity management, as it can reduce the risk of pulmonary complications and improve patients' quality of life.

Evaluation of the effectiveness of laparoscopic pectopexy in advanced stage apical prolapse.

Objective: We aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the laparoscopic pectopexy procedure in women who want to preserve their uterus for stage III or IV apical prolapse.

Study Design: 132 women who underwent laparoscopic pectopexy due to stage III or IV apical pelvic organ prolapse (POP) were included in this study. Demographic data of the patients, duration of surgery, blood loss, hospitalisation, intraoperative and postoperative complications, recurrence rate were searched from the hospital file archive.

Alteration in gut microbial characteristics of patients with acromegaly.

Purpose: Studies on intestinal microbiota in acromegaly are scant. This study aimed to characterize the gut microbiome in patients with acromegaly.

Method: Stool samples were collected from 11 patients newly diagnosed with acromegaly and 12 healthy controls matched for body mass index (BMI) and age after three days on a standard diet.

This systematic literature review follows the methodology outlined in the "Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis" ("PRISMA") statement, which is an internationally recognized and widely accepted standard.

Transcriptomic analysis delineates preterm prelabor rupture of membranes from preterm labor in preterm fetal membranes.

Background: Globally, preterm birth remains the leading cause of death in children younger than 5 years old. Spontaneous preterm birth is comprised of two events that may or may not occur simultaneously: preterm labor and preterm prelabor rupture of membranes (PPROM). To further explore the concept that spontaneous preterm birth can result from the initializing of two separate but overlapping pathological events, we compared fetal membrane tissue from preterm labor deliveries to fetal tissue from preterm labor with PPROM deliveries.

Investigation of alterations in retrobulbar hemodynamics and their correlation with choroidal thickness after strabismus surgery.

Background: To evaluate the changes in retrobulbar circulation after strabismus surgery and to assess the relationship of these changes with choroidal thickness (CT).

Methods: This prospective study included 26 eyes of 26 patients who underwent strabismus surgery and 15 eyes of 15 healthy individuals as control group. The patients who had single horizontal muscle surgery were included in Group 1 (n = 14); and those who had surgery on both horizontal muscles were included in Group 2 (n = 12).

Active Sites and Their Individual Turnover Frequencies for Ethylene Hydrogenation on Reduced Graphene Aerogel.

Graphene aerogel (GA) was reduced at various temperatures to prepare a series of reduced graphene aerogels (rGAs) with different surface characteristics. Detailed characterization demonstrated that an increase in the thermal reduction temperature leads to an increase in surface area accompanied by an increase in surface density of defect sites formed by the removal of the oxygen-containing functional groups. rGA samples were then tested for ethylene hydrogenation under identical conditions.

Evaluating CH/N Separation Performances of Hundreds of Thousands of Real and Hypothetical MOFs by Harnessing Molecular Modeling and Machine Learning.

Considering the large abundance and diversity of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), evaluating the gas adsorption and separation performance of the entire MOF material space using solely experimental techniques or brute-force computer simulations is impractical. In this study, we integrated high-throughput molecular simulations with machine learning (ML) to explore the potential of both synthesized, the real MOFs, and computer-generated, the hypothetical MOFs (hypoMOFs), for adsorption-based CH/N separation. CH/N mixture adsorption data obtained from molecular simulations were used to train the ML models that could accurately predict gas uptakes of 4612 real MOFs.

Atypical Monteggia Fracture Dislocation Type 3 Equivalent Lesion in a 4- Year- Old Boy.

Introduction: Monteggia fracture dislocations are relatively common and debilitating traumas in <10 years of age. This is the second case reporting Monteggia type 3 equivalent injury treated by the same way while the first being reported also by our team in 2016.

Case Report: A 4-year-old Caucasian male patient was admitted to our clinic by his parents at the day after his fall.

Jerusalem artichoke diversity in Türkiye: comparative analysis of clone and organ-based biochemical composition.

In this study, biochemical analyses were performed for the first time on 22 different Jerusalem artichokes clones collected from different regions of Türkiye and samples from three different organs of each clone, considering the interaction effects. As a result of the study, the interaction effect of clones and sampled organs was found significant for total flavonoids, ascorbic acid, total chlorophyll, pH, HO removal capacity, total dry matter, water soluble dry matter and antioxidant capacity FRAP. According to the correlation analysis, the highest coefficient among the parameters in the tuber was between titratable acidity and total phenolic matter (0,576).

Bruxism, parafunctional oral habits and oral motor problems in children with spastic cerebral palsy: A cross-sectional study.

Background: Individuals with spastic cerebral palsy are more predisposed to parafunctional oral activities and oral motor problems because of spasticity.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to evaluate the relationship between the gross motor function classification system score (GMFCS), age, bruxism, parafunctional oral habits and oral motor problems in children with cerebral palsy.

Methods: This cross-sectional study included 63 children with spastic cerebral palsy, aged 3-18 years, with developmental disabilities.

Selection and Molecular Characterization of Promising Plum Rootstocks ( L.) among Seedling-Origin Trees.

The plum ( Ehrh) has been used worldwide both as a genetic source for breeding new rootstocks and as clonal rootstock for many species. Considering situations where wild relatives of plums are endangered, in-depth characterization of rootstock traits of genetic diversity of plum germplasm of Turkey with many ecogeographical locations is crucial. In the present study, therefore, three steps were followed for the selection of rootstock candidates among the plum germplasm grown in the Middle Euphrates.
