Objectives: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in children is a chronic condition that affects the psychosocial status and physical activities of children and their parents. This study aimed to investigate the impact of IBD on the quality of life of adolescents and their families and the variability of behavioral and emotional adjustment issues compared to a healthy control group.
Methods: This study was designed as a prospective controlled study.
Background: The incidence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is increasing with obesity, and it is believed that the ongoing low-grade inflammation in obesity and alterations in the enterohepatic axis contributing this process. This study aimed to determine the role of fecal calprotectin (FC) as inflammatory biomarker in obesity and NAFLD.
Methods: Between November 2022-August 2023, 31 obese and 10 healthy adolescents aged between 10 and 18 years enrolled in this prospective controlled study.

Background: Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) is one of the most common acquired causes of hypercoagulability. The 2023 American College of Rheumatology (ACR) / European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) APS Classification Criteria were specified as new APS classification criteria with high specificity for use in observational studies and research. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of the 2023 ACR/EULAR APS classification criteria in a real-world rheumatology department.

Scientists are looking for novel ways to cure and prevent this sneaky disease because of the toxicity of contemporary chemotherapy and the cancer cells' resilience to anticancer drugs. Determining the effect of herbal medicines, which do not have as harmful side effects as synthetic drugs, on cancer cell lines is an essential preliminary study in the production of effective drugs against cancer.

The sample of the study includes seven groups: lycopene (L), high glucose (G), high glucose + lycopene (GL), and control (C) groups tested at 12 and 24 h. The expression levels of genes in oxidative, apoptotic, autophagic, and necrotic cell death pathways are determined by reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction analysis.

The aim of this study was to determine the association between fetal vascular malperfusion score and syncytiotrophoblast basement membrane thickness and clinicopathological variables, such as developing preeclampsia in women with gestational diabetes mellitus.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 65 pregnant participants (34 with gestational diabetes mellitus and 31 controls) between January 2019 and January 2022.

Background: Trichobezoar is a rare clinical condition in children, which is caused by the accumulation of swallowed hair mass in the digestive tract. This condition is most common in young women with psychiatric histories who suffer from trichotillomania (TTM), where they have an irresistible urge to pull out their hair. Diagnosis and treatment of this pathology, which is already extremely rare, and its variable clinical presentations are challenging.

Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress is caused by fluorine-induced oxidative stress and importance of vitamin D in its prevention is not known enough in bone cells. This study was carried out to investigate fluorine-induced oxidative stress, ER stress, and death pathways and the effect of vitamin D on them.

We have defined an anatomic landmark-based, easy-to-perform, and an alternative way of open laparoscopic entry technique named the ligamentum teres lift-up technique (TLU) that can be used in obese or normal-weight women to tackle the risks of the closed laparoscopic entry technique, namely, Veress needle entry (VNE).
Study Design: In this retrospective comparative study, the participants were equally distributed to either the TLU group (n = 36) or the VNE group (n = 36) in a 1:1 ratio.
Papillomaviruses, known as epitheliotropic, cause proliferation in the skin, mucosa, and different visceral organs. In this study, it was aimed to diagnose bovine papillomavirus (BPV) by using different methods in the lesion taken from twenty cattle with papillomas in different areas of the body and to reveal its molecular characterization. In our study, molecular, immunohistochemistry, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) methods were used for virus identification.

This study aimed to predict some soil water contents and soil erodibility indices with a multilayer perceptron (MLP) artificial neural network (ANN) using remote sensing data (Landsat 8 OLI TIRS) and topographic variables from a digital elevation model (DEM) in a semi-arid ecosystem. In models, the input variables were derived from remote sensing imaging and DEM. The output variables were field capacity, wilting point, aggregate stability index, structural stability index, dispersion ratio, and clay flocculation index.

The lesions they cause, specifically in cattle teats, lead to significant economic losses in the milk industry. In this study, we identified the bovine papillomaviruses (BPVs) responsible for teat papillomas in cattle.

Method: The interpretative phenomenological approach was used, and the data were gathered between June and July, 2020 in Rize using face-to-face interviews. The sample consisted of 10 nurses and 5 physicians.
Background: Insulin resistance plays an important role in predicting type 2 diabetes that may develops. This study was planned in order to investigate the beneficial effects of quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa) use in glucocorticoid induced-insulin resistance.
Methods And Results: Forty-two rats were used as the material (experimental) groups: the control group (C), the quinoa-administered group (Q), the insulin resistance-created group (IR), the IR + metformin group (IM), the IR + quinoa for treatment group (IQ) and the quinoa + IR for prophylaxis group (QI).
Objectives: To investigate the prognostic significant of lymph node ratio and surgical margins in patients with colon cancer undergoing surgery.
Methods: This observational and retrospective study was conducted at Karadeniz Technical University Medical Faculty, between 1 January, 2010 and 31 November, 2020. A series of 137 patients who had undergone surgical resection of colon carcinoma were included in this study.
This study was planned to evaluate the effect of vitamin D administration on cytotoxicity due to fluoride exposure in vitro. NaF (IC50) and vitamin D (proliferative) were applied to human osteoblast (hFOB 1.19) cells.

Besides retinal involvement, abnormalities in brain and osteopenia, serious life-threatening bleeding in gastrointestinal tract and portal hypertension can be observed.
Case Presentation: A 6-year-old girl with Coats plus syndrome presented to the pediatric emergency department with vomiting blood and blood in stool.
Background: Trunk stabilization is important in providing postural control and extremity movements, and is maintained by the muscles called "core".
Objective: The aim of this report was to demonstrate the effect of core muscles contraction on upper extremity tremor.
Materials And Methods: A 22-year-old Multiple Sclerosis patient with right extremity ataxia was included in this report.
