Dual Mobility in Extreme Situations of Revision Hip Arthroplasty: A Case Series of 3 Cases and Review of Literature.

Introduction: Dual mobility (DM) total hip replacement (THR) features an acetabular component with an unconstrained tripolar build which ensures a greater range of motion without provoking any dislocation.We report three cases with extremes of surgical misadventure where we carried out a revision arthroplasty with a DM cup. The causes of the failure of the primary arthroplasty were multifactorial, even individually, and ranged from instability due to component malposition, trochanteric fracture, intrapelvic prosthesis protrusion, etc.

Postero-Central Slice Osteotomy of the Proximal Tibia: A Novel Technique for Correcting Resistant Tight Extension Gaps in Posterior-Stabilized Total Knee Arthroplasty for Varus Osteoarthritis.

Background: The aim of total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is to circumvent the pain due to advanced osteoarthritis of the knee joint and correct the limb alignment and biomechanics to improve patients' quality of life. Apart from medio-lateral balancing, balancing flexion and extension gaps is a prerogative to achieve good results. This study proposes a novel surgical technique of postero-central slice osteotomy of the proximal tibia (PCSO-PT) for correcting tight extension gaps in posterior-stabilized knees and assesses its clinical and functional outcomes.

Allograft Impaction and Supplementary Plating for the Management of Epi-Metaphyseal Enchondroma: A Rare Case Report.

Introduction: Enchondroma is a common bone tumor; however, its location in the proximal epi-metaphyseal region of the tibia is a rare finding. Its management is complicated by the weight-bearing nature of the site and despite an array of available treatment modalities in the literature, there is no fixed consensus.

Introduction: Pathological fractures in pediatric age group are most commonly secondary to bone tumors. Management of such cases in patients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is complicated by the prevalence of low bone mineral density (BMD) in these patients.

Background: Mucoid degeneration of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) has been shown to cause restricted terminal range of motion and rest pain. If present in a patient undergoing unicompartmental knee arthroplasty, it can deteriorate the final outcome. This study aims to compare functional and clinical outcomes of debulking the mucoid ACL in patients undergoing mobile-bearing unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA).

Introduction: Autograft options for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction over the years have gone from bone-patellar tendon-bone to hamstring to peroneus longus tendon. Considering the drawbacks of other autografts, we analyse peroneus longus autograft holistically as a viable alternative.
