Isolated infarctions of the subepicardial myocardium without changes in subendocardium are extremely rare. We present an autoptic case with an acute subepicardial infarction of the right- and left-ventricular myocardium. A 53-year-old male was admitted to hospital with acute upper abdominal pain.

We present a fatal case of a generalized HSV-1 infection in a 22-year-old female afflicted by acute lymphoblastic leukemia who was treated with polychemotherapy. The terminal clinical course was characterized by abdominal pain, progressive hepatic failure, and disseminated intravascular coagulation.
