Objective: The objective of this study was to measure and describe the national patient experience of radical cystectomy (RC) pathways in the UK using the validated Cystectomy-Pathway Assessment Tool (C-PAT).
Patients And Methods: A cohort of 1081 patients who underwent RC for bladder cancer, between 1 January 2021 and 31 July 2022 at 33 UK cystectomy centres, returned completed C-PAT responses. SPSS was employed for data summary statistics, including median, interquartile range, Mann Whitney U test or Chi-square test with a 95% confidence interval to assess statistical significance between potentially associated variables.
A duplex gallbladder is an extremely rare congenital anomaly that while may remain asymptomatic, may also develop into biliary colic, cholecystitis, cholangitis or pancreatitis. In these circumstances, it is advisable to surgically remove both gallbladders. Typically, a cholecystectomy is performed laparoscopically as this aids patient recovery and complication risk; however, when congenital abnormalities are present, some may choose to revert to an open operation.

Objectives: Community pharmacies and their personnel present an opportunity to implement new services for bladder and bowel continence care. Underpinned by the COM-B model of capability (C), opportunity (O), motivation (M), Behaviour (B)), this study explored the opinions of healthcare staff and users of community pharmacy services, to inform the development of a new pharmacy bladder and bowel service (PBBS).
Methods: A qualitative design was adopted by conducting in-depth semi-structured interviews with pharmacy staff, users of community pharmacy services, bladder and bowel service staff, and professionals involved with commissioning services.
Indolent CD4+ cytotoxic chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell lymphoma involving the small intestine was diagnosed in a patient who had previously received ciltacabtagene autoleucel (cilta-cel) CAR T-cell therapy for treatment of myeloma. Targeted messenger RNA sequencing revealed the presence of CAR gene product in tumor cells. Whole-genome sequencing of samples of tumor and peripheral blood identified a single lentiviral insertion site within the second intron of the gene.

Objective: This paper highlights the occupational risk of Q fever from exposure to raw animal products in the context of multiple notified Q fever cases from 2020 to 2023 linked to four pet food manufacturing facilities in South-East Queensland, Australia.
Methods: The Queensland Government Notifiable Conditions System was used to identify Q fever cases linked to pet food manufacturing in the Metro North and Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service areas of Brisbane, Australia. Data on each case from routine public health follow-up were collected and descriptively analysed.
Unlabelled: Post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) for potential lyssavirus exposures consists of wound management, rabies vaccination and may include rabies immunoglobulin (RIG). Rabies serology is sometimes indicated if there is risk of PEP failure.
Objectives: Evaluate the benefit of serology by indication.
Background: Toxigenic Corynebacterium ulcerans is an emerging zoonosis globally, causing both cutaneous and respiratory diphtheria-like illness. In Queensland, human infection with toxigenic C. ulcerans is rare, with only three cases reported before October 2015.

In this work, we provide a thorough experimental study of ETPA in the organic molecules Rhodamine B (RhB) and zinc tetraphenylporphirin (ZnTPP). Our contribution is 3-fold: first, we reproduce previous results from other groups; second, we on the one hand determine the effects of different temporal correlations─introduced as a controllable temporal delay between the signal and idler photons to be absorbed─on the strength of the ETPA signal, and on the other hand, we introduce two concurrent and equivalent detection systems with and without the sample in place as a useful experimental check; third, we introduce, and apply to our data, a novel method to quantify the ETPA rate based on taking into account the full photon-pair behavior rather than focusing on singles or coincidence counts independently.

In particular, we propose and demonstrate an innovative method to boost the efficiency and probe the coherence characteristics of the analogue Hawking effect relying on a double pump pulse with a controlled temporal delay. We show that the emitted analogue Hawking radiation corresponds to the coherently-added, interfering Hawking signals resulting from the probe interacting with each pump pulse.

This study reports the translation, cross-cultural adaptation and validation process of this diary to the Portuguese language.
Methods: After translation and back-translation of the ICIQ-BD to Portuguese, 140 urologic patients were asked to fill in this 3-day diary as well as the Overactive Bladder questionnaire Short Form (OABqSF) and a questionnaire evaluating the difficulties in filling out the ICIQ-BD.
The current COVID-19 public health crisis, caused by SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2), has produced a devastating toll both in terms of human life loss and economic disruption. In this paper we present a machine-learning algorithm capable of identifying whether a given patient (actually infected or suspected to be infected) is more likely to survive than to die, or vice-versa. We train this algorithm with historical data, including medical history, demographic data, as well as COVID-19-related information.

We base our source on the spontaneous four-wave mixing (SFWM) process in a photonic crystal fiber. We show theoretically that the two-photon state is the coherent superposition of up to six distinct SFWM processes, each corresponding to a distinct combination of polarizations for the four waves involved and giving rise to an energy-conserving pair of peaks.

Validation of driver mutations responsible for B cell neoplasms is complicated by the volume of mutations worthy of investigation and by the complex ways that multiple mutations arising from different stages of B cell development can cooperate. Forward and reverse genetic strategies in mice can provide complementary validation of human driver genes and in some cases comparative genomics of these models with human tumors has directed the identification of new drivers in human malignancies.
