Context: Linn (Labiatae) (OS), Rose (Zingiberaceae) (ZO), and Linn (Piperaceae) (PN) are used in traditional medicine as immunomodulator, anti-inflammatory, and bioavailability enhancer agents.
Objective: Active phytoconstituents of OS, ZO, PN hydro-alcoholic extracts and their effects on gut microbiota, basal inflammation and lipid profile were investigated in rats.
Materials And Methods: Active phytoconstituents of extracts were analysed using HPLC and GC-MS.
Background and objectives Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) and the role of genetic variants in determining the iron status in adolescent girls are not yet well-understood. This study aims to investigate the association of the rs602662, rs1049296, rs1805051, rs855791, rs224589, and rs11568350 genes with IDA and iron bio-status parameters. Methods This study consisted of 132 patients (IDA group) and 110 healthy controls.

This study intends to evaluate the lipid profile, hormonal levels [free T3 (fT3), free T4 (fT4), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), insulin, luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and prolactin] in PCOS women from Nellore and its surrounding districts of Andhra Pradesh, India.
Materials And Methods: This cross-sectional study included 80 newly diagnosed PCOS women and an equal number of age and body mass index (BMI) matched healthy controls.
Background: Cigarette smoke promotes atherogenesis by producing oxygen-derived free radicals.
Aim: The present study was conducted to determine the effect of cigarette smoking on lipid peroxidation and erythrocyte antioxidant status in ischemic heart disease (IHD).
Materials And Methods: A total of 327 male subjects were enrolled for this study, divided into two groups consisting of 200 patients, who were consecutively admitted for IHD in the intensive cardiac care unit (ICCU) of a Government Hospital and 127 age matched male healthy subjects.
Background: Ischemic heart disease (IHD) remains a major public health problem nationally and internationally. Smoking is a major risk factor for IHD.The deletion (D) allele of the angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) gene polymorphism has been associated with hypertension, ischemic stroke and myocardial infarction.
