Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria syndrome (HGPS) serves as a prominent model for Progeroid syndromes, a group of rare genetic disorders characterized by accelerated aging. This review explores the genetic basis, clinical presentation, and complications of HGPS. HGPS is caused by mutations in the LMNA gene, resulting in the production of a defective structural protein, prelamin A.

To identify patient problems and patient expectations through focused group discussions (FGD) and develop a multimodal educational tool consisting of a pictogram-based patient information leaflet (P-PIL), HF video, and personalized counseling (PC) for HF patients.
Materials And Methods: Based on the results of the FGD with stakeholders, we developed, validated, and tested educational tools such as P-PIL and HF videos and personalized counseling for enhancing patient education.
Background: Evidence shows that diabetes raises the probability of contracting COVID-19 and associated complications. We hypothesize that metformin, being pleiotropic, may improve COVID-19 in diabetics.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted with 421 COVID-19 patients with diabetes, hospitalized between 1st April 2020 and 31st March 2022 in a tertiary-care hospital.
Contemporary patient care requires a multidisciplinary approach to monitoring, assessing, and managing diseases. Promoting multidisciplinary approaches encourages the purposeful participation of many healthcare professionals and harnessing their combined knowledge to provide tailored treatment plans. Pharmacists, skilled and knowledgeable professionals in medication management, drug-related problems, and disease prevention, can offer vital interventions that contribute to improved patient outcomes.

This study explores the expression and role of the E3-ubiquitin ligase, c-Cbl, in neurogenesis within the subventricular zone (SVZ) of mice. In vitro neurosphere assays and analyses were performed in specific c-Cbl knock-out lines to unravel c-Cbl's role in receptor tyrosine kinase signaling, including the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) pathway.

DRPs are critical, for saving on therapeutic costs, particularly in resource poor settings within low-middle-income countries such as India. Indicators are clues that helps to detect DRPs within the healthcare organization and minimize overall harm from medications.

Nutrient deficiencies are among the major risk factors in DFU development and healing. In this context, we aimed to investigate the possible association between micronutrient status and risk of DFU.

As per the World Health Organization, vaccine hesitancy is one of the top 10 hazards to global health. Vaccine hesitancy varies across countries, with India reporting the least vaccine hesitancy.

Methods: A Prospective cross-sectional study was conducted among 575 individuals for a period of six months. All the relevant information was collected using the peer-validated survey questionnaire.

Reports suggest that decreased levels of antimicrobial peptides like cathelicidin, elevated levels of inflammatory cytokines, and biofilm formation are all associated with vitamin D deficiency, making vitamin D - deficient individuals more susceptible to infection. Infections attributable to biofilm-producing microbes can be managed by adjuvant therapy with vitamin D because of its immunomodulatory role, particularly because of the ability of vitamin D-pathway to induce the antimicrobial peptides like cathelicidin and decrease proinflammatory cytokines.

Background: Cereblon, an extensively studied multifunctional protein, is a Cullin 4-RING E3 ubiquitin ligase complex component. Cereblon is a well-known target of thalidomide and its derivatives. Cereblon is involved in multiple myeloma cell apoptosis.

COVID-19 has been particularly challenging for patient subpopulations constituting immunocompromised individuals, geriatric patients, and those afflicted by chronic ailments. Reports indicate that diminished kidney function in chronic kidney disease (CKD) renders patients highly susceptible to complications during COVID-19 treatment.

Hypoxemia is a symptom of infection, which is accompanied by acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Augmenting supplementary oxygen may not always improve oxygen saturation; reversing hypoxemia in COVID-19 necessitates sophisticated means to promote oxygen transfer from alveoli to blood.

Introduction: The recent increase in multidrug-resistant strains of has increased the incidences of ventilator-associated pneumoniae, catheter-associated urinary tract infections, and central line-associated blood stream infections, together increasing hospital stay, treatment cost, and mortality. Resistance genes are dominant in India. Carbapenem-resistant () International clone-2 (IC-2) are rising in India.

Also there is less research in comparing use of self -regulated learning strategies between blended and other learning strategies. Primary aim was to evaluate the effectiveness of blended learning on knowledge score using clinical research modules.

We found a significant reduction in the levels of serum IL- 1β and IL-6 levels at one-year of KD therapy compared to baseline. However, we did not find any correlation between decrease in the serum concentrations of these interleukins with the reduction in seizure frequency at one-year of KD therapy, which may be due to the small sample size and heterogeneous patient population we studied.

By interacting with G-proteincoupled receptors CB1 and CB2, Δ-THC affects peripheral and central circulation by lowering sympathetic activity, altering gene expression, cell proliferation, and differentiation, decreasing leukocyte migration, modulating neurotransmitter release, thereby modulating cardiovascular functioning, tumorigenesis, immune responses, behavioral and locomotory activities. Δ-THC effectively suppresses chemotherapy-induced vomiting, retards malignant tumor growth, inhibits metastasis, and promotes apoptosis.

Background: Body defenses and metabolic processes probably co-evolved in such a way that rapid, energy-intensive acute inflammatory repair is functionally integrated with energy allocation in a starvation/ infection / injury-prone primitive environment. Disruptive metabolic surplus, aggravated by sedentary lifestyle induces chronic under-activation of AMPK, the master regulator of intracellular energy homeostasis. Sudden increase in chronic, dysregulated 'sterile' inflammatory disorders probably results from a shift towards calorie rich, sanitized, cushioned, injury/ infection free environment, repositioning inflammatory repair pathways towards chronic, non-microbial, 'sterile', 'low grade', and 'parainflammation'.

VDD among African-Americans, diabetics, hypertensive, and aged populations possibly explain the higher death rate, aggravated by cocooning. Vitamin D is pleiotropic, mediating bone metabolism, calcium homeostasis, and immune functions, whereas VDD is associated with inflammatory reactions and immune dysfunction, predisposing individuals to severe infections.
