Purpose: To explore if a high-resolution diffusion weighted MRI sequence (DWI-only) could be used as a first step in an MRI-directed diagnostic pathway.

Methods: Prospective single center study that between December 2017 and August 2018 included 129 consecutive patients with suspicion of prostate cancer into a PI-RADS-based MRI-directed diagnostic pathway. All patients had multiparametric MRI (mpMRI).

Background: Up to half of patients with localized prostate cancer experience biochemical relapse within 10 years after definitive radiotherapy. The aim of this prospective study was to investigate the toxicity, dose to the organs at risk (OARs), and efficacy of dose-intensified focal salvage radiotherapy.

Methods And Material: Thirty-three patients (median age 68.

Background: Liver X receptor (LXR) is a transcription factor of the nuclear receptor family, regulating genes involved in metabolism, inflammation, and apoptosis. In the present investigation, we examined the role of LXR in organ injury and systemic inflammation in rodent models of polymicrobial peritonitis caused by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP).

Methods: Rats were subjected to CLP sepsis or a sham operation.

The host inflammatory response in sepsis may be resolved by endogenous anti-inflammatory immune cell responses, avoiding fatal pathogenesis, organ injury, and death. The intracellular signaling mediator cyclic 3'5'-adenosine monophosphate is a potent modulator of inflammatory responses and initiates the polarization of immune cells in a direction that suppresses inflammatory activation. Cyclic 3'5'-adenosine monophosphate is enzymatically produced by adenylyl cyclases (ACs).
