Getting your DUCs in a row - standardising the representation of Digital Use Conditions.

Improving patient care and advancing scientific discovery requires responsible sharing of research data, healthcare records, biosamples, and biomedical resources that must also respect applicable use conditions. Defining a standard to structure and manage these use conditions is a complex and challenging task. This is exemplified by a near unlimited range of asset types, a high variability of applicable conditions, and differing applications at the individual or collective level.

Common conditions of use elements. Atomic concepts for consistent and effective information governance.

Myriad policy, ethical and legal considerations underpin the sharing of biological resources, implying the need for standardised and yet flexible ways to digitally represent diverse 'use conditions'. We report a core lexicon of terms that are atomic, non-directional 'concepts of use', called Common Conditions of use Elements. This work engaged biobanks and registries relevant to the European Joint Programme for Rare Diseases and aimed to produce a lexicon that would have generalised utility.

Eagle Syndrome is a pain syndrome of rare and unwonted incidence. Forbearer has an elongated styloid process or a calcified stylohyoid ligament, suppressing glossopharyngeal nerve leading to a mélange of symptoms including sporadic cervicofacial pain, headache, and foreign body sensation. Here we present case of a 65 year old military man of south Asian origin, who presented with complaints of sudden episodes of blackouts for past five years and pain in neck while turning head to left for past two months.

What are the barriers and facilitators to seeking help for mental health in NHS doctors: a systematic review and qualitative study.

Background: The mental health of healthcare professionals is reaching a breaking point, and the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated current mental health issues to unprecedented levels. Whilst some research has been carried out on the barriers that doctors face when seeking mental health help, there is little research into factors which may facilitate seeking help. We aimed to expand the research base on factors which act as barriers to seeking help, as well as gain insight into facilitators of help-seeking behaviour for mental health in NHS doctors.

Port site tuberculosis a rare post operation entity: A case report.

Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is one of the most common procedures done worldwide. Post-surgical site infections are common, yet there are occurrences of uncommon complications, including port site tuberculosis (TB). We report a case of a 62-year-old man who was the victim of post-surgical site infection of port sites caused probably by improper sterilization.

Design of active fault-tolerant control system for Air-fuel ratio control of internal combustion engines using fuzzy logic controller.

Background: Fault-Tolerant Control Systems (FTCS) are used in critical and safety applications to improve performance and stability despite failure modes. As a result, costly production losses related to unusual and unplanned shutdowns can be prevented by incorporating these systems in the critical process plant machines. The Internal Combustion (IC) engines are highly used process plant machines and faults in their sensors will cause their shutdown instigating the need to install FTCS in them.

Cost-Utility Analysis of Oxybutynin vs. OnabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) in the Treatment of Overactive Bladder Syndrome.

The UK National Health Service (NHS) propose the use of oxybutynin prior to onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) in the management of overactive bladder syndrome (OAB). Oxybutynin is costly and associated with poor adherence, which may not occur with Botox. We conducted a cost-utility analysis (CUA) to compare the medications.

Unmasking the great masqueraders: Concurrent isolated large cecal endometrioma and solitary extra-uterine retroperitoneal cellular leiomyoma - A case report with review of literature.

Introduction: Cecal endometriosis is an infrequent cause of right iliac fossa pain. The extra-uterine retroperitoneal cellular leiomyoma is a rare tumor. The concurrent existence of both these rare conditions is a unique event.
