The objective of this study was to determine the effect of administration of tamsulosin on oral glucose tolerance in normal Wistar rats. Forty (40) male albino Wistar rats were selected and divided into four (4) groups of ten (10) rats each, viz, GROUP I, II, III and IV. Group I (Normal control): Distilled water (5ml/kg), Group II (Positive control): Carvedilol(800µg/kg), Group III (Tamsulosin treated): Tamsulosin (12µg/kg), Group IV (Tamsulosin treated): Tamsulosin (40µg/kg).

This has been shown to be a major factor in countries that have been successful in containing COVID-19 transmission. Early detection of cases is important, and the use of geospatial technology can support to detect and easily identify potential hotspots that will require timely response.

This work is aimed to document the effects of ISS on the performance of health workers in Zambia using selected key surveillance and immunization process indicators. ISS data on WHO ODK server of all Integrated Supportive Supervisory (ISS) visits that were conducted in Zambia between 1 January 2018 to 30 September 2018 were analysed to determine the Percentage point difference between the first and the most recent ISS visits in order to determine whether an observed gap during first ISS visit had persisted during the most recent ISS visit.

In this paper, we documented the experiences with mobile phone data collection, collation and analysis in 5 countries of the East and Southern African, using Open Data Kit (ODK), where questionnaires were designed and coded on an XML form, uploaded and data collected using Android-Based mobile phones, with a web-based system to monitor data in real-time during EPI comprehensive review. The ODK interface supports in real-time monitoring of the flow of data, detection of missing or incomplete data, coordinate location of all locations visited, embedded charts for basic analysis.

The prepared MnO₂@MWCNTs were characterized by several techniques which confirmed the formation of MnO₂ nanoparticles anchored MWCNTs. The X-ray diffraction and Raman-scattering analyses of the prepared material further revealed the effective synthesis of MnO₂@MWCNTs.

The physical characterization studies by means of XRD indicated for the successful incorporation of Ce into the lattice of TiO₂, while the UV-visible spectra for an absorption edge shift of TiO₂ to the higher wavelength side following the Ce addition, and FESEM analysis for the morphology and particles sizes of the synthesized materials. On testing of the photoluminescence properties recorded through time-resolved fluorescence (TCSPC) technique, a decrease in the intensity of TiO₂ with that of increased Ce concentration was observed and is due to an escalation in the number of oxygen vacancies.

Analysis of MGD, its severity, shapes and variation in the acini of the meibomian glands (MGs) is receiving much attention in ophthalmology clinics. Existing methods for diagnosing, detection and analysing meibomianitis are not capable to quantify the irregularities to IR (infrared) images of MG area such as light reflection, interglands and intraglands boundaries, the improper focus of the light and positioning, and eyelid eversion.

Regenerative medicine is a field that aims to influence and improvise the processes of tissue repair and restoration and to assist the body to heal and recover. In the field of hard tissue regeneration, bio-inert materials are being predominantly used, and there is a necessity to use bioactive materials that can help in better tissue-implant interactions and facilitate the healing and regeneration process. One such bioactive material that is being focused upon and studied extensively in the past few decades is bioactive glass (BG).
