Throughout time, medical research has sought to identify clinical factors and strategies to improve the management of these conditions.

Adaptation in landlocked Atlantic salmon links genetics in wild and farmed salmon to smoltification.

Increased knowledge of heritable traits in Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar) is important to overcome bottlenecks in salmonid aquaculture. Atlantic salmonid populations, both landlocked and anadromous, represent an interesting model to gain insight into anadromy related traits, most notably, the probability to smoltify. While a previous study has identified several genomic regions diverging between anadromous and landlocked populations across the species range, the present study explores these data further with the aim to uncover if some of these genomic regions are linked to beneficial genetic traits associated with smoltification.

Background: Despite enhanced recovery programmes, length of stay is variable following robotic assisted radical cystectomy (RARC). The aim of this study was to assess the impact socioeconomic deprivation on recovery following RARC.

Methods: The prospectively maintained RARC databases at two tertiary referral hospitals were reviewed from 2015 to 2017.

In MAPS (Managing Adolescent first Episode Psychosis: a feasibility Study), adolescents with first episode psychosis (FEP) were randomly allocated to receive either antipsychotic medication (AP), psychological intervention (cognitive behavioural therapy [CBT] and family intervention [FI]), or both. We conducted a nested qualitative study to investigate clinicians' views of these treatments.

We report the long-term outcomes of a randomized control trial comparing CRYO to RF ablation, or a novel COMBINED approach (RF followed by CRYO) for PAF. We studied the number and pattern of pulmonary vein (PV) reconnections in patients undergoing repeat procedure(s).
