Objective: The purpose of the present study was to evaluate skeletal and soft tissue changes with surgically assisted rapid maxillary expansion (SARME) and intermaxillary Class III elastics.
Methods: A total of 15 patients (mean age: 19.58 years) were included in the study.
Purpose: More attention has been focused on the long-term side effects of treatment protocols since impressive advances in childhood cancer treatment have resulted in a growing population of patients. The purpose of this study was to investigate the disturbances of dento-facial development in children who were long-term survivors of childhood malignancies.
Methods: Fifty-three children (mean age, 10 years + 4 months) in long-term remission underwent oral/dental and radiographic examinations after completion of therapy.
Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of semi-rapid maxillary expansion (SRME) orthodontic treatment on biomarkers and respiratory parameters in children with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) and maxillary transverse deficiency.
Methods: Thirty children with OSAS were included in this study. Fifteen children were enrolled as control, and 15 children were subjected to SRME orthodontic treatment method for 5 months.

One of the most preferred compliance free fixed functional appliances in nongrowing patients is Twin Force Bite corrector (TFBC). The aim of this case report is to evaluate the effectiveness of TFBC in the treatment of an adult Class II case. A 16-year 1-month-old boy having skeletal and dental Class II relationship was selected.

Materials And Methods: Twenty-six Class III adult patients treated with bimaxillary surgery were included in the study. Cephalometric records were taken before surgery (T1) and 5 months (T2), 1.
Objectives: The present study aimed to compare the treatment outcomes of a fixed-functional appliance (Twin-Force Bite Corrector - TFBC) and a conventional removable functional appliance (Activator) in the treatment of skeletal Class II malocclusions.
Methods: The TFBC and Activator Groups each included 10 young adults possessing a skeletal Class II malocclusion, and the treatment outcomes of both groups were quantified and compared, using lateral cephalometric radiographs, with an untreated skeletal Class II Control Group.
Results: A skeletal Class I relationship and a marked reduction in overjet were achieved in both treatment groups; however, the duration of treatment was significantly shorter in the TFBC Group (0.
Craniofacial morphology and asymmetry were compared before, during, and after puberty within and between patients with unilateral complete cleft lip and palate (UCCLP) and a non-cleft group. In the UCCLP group, the posterior cranial base and total cranial base were significantly shorter at all skeletal periods, the maxilla was significantly retruded and posteriorly rotated, and the mandible was significantly smaller and inferoposteriorly rotated. The angle between the nasal and mandibular plane and lower anterior facial height were significantly higher, and upper posterior facial height and total posterior height were significantly lower, in the UCCLP group.

Materials And Methods: Dental casts of 72 individuals with CLP (20 bilateral [BCLP], 34 unilateral left [ULCLP], and 18 unilateral right [URCLP]) and 53 individuals with Class I occlusion, all with permanent dentition, were randomly selected. Mesiodistal (MD), labiolingual (LL), and occlusogingival (OG) measurements of upper and lower teeth were recorded with a digital caliper.
Significant heterogeneity has previously been reported but with no consensus on the prevalence of dental anomalies in subjects with a cleft lip and palate (CLP), thus, the purpose of this study was to investigate the frequency of various dental anomalies in the upper dental arch in different cleft groups. Diagnostic records, i.e.

Methods: To correct the imbalanced maxillomandibular relationship, a Twin Force Bite Corrector was inserted in 2 female adolescents (case 1: 12 years 3 months of age; case 2: 12 years 7 months of age) presenting with a skeletal Class II malocclusion. The pretreatment, posttreatment, and follow-up dental and skeletal parameters were evaluated on lateral cephalometric radiographs.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of cephalometric measurements using computerized tracing of direct digital radiographs in comparison with hand tracing of digital radiographic printouts. Comparisons were made between methods in terms of accuracy of individual measurements as well as evaluation of treatment outcomes. Pre- (T1) and post- (T2) treatment cephalometric digital radiographs of 30 patients were traced using the Vistadent OC 1.

This was then compared with the measurements obtained with a computerized method that uses a digitizing pad and hand tracing of printout radiographs. Pre-treatment digital cephalometric radiographs of 125 patients were traced using Vistadent 2.

Materials And Methods: Pretreatment (T1), preoperative (T2), and posttreatment (T3) cephalometric variables and upper-lower lip areas were measured on lateral cephalometric radiographs for 20 individuals (9 male, 11 female; mean age 21.3 years at T1, 22.
