Materials And Methods: A total of 98 patients with advanced lung cancer or recurrent lung cancer after the standard therapies were enrolled retrospectively. The bronchial arteries and mediastinal branches from the subclavian artery were selected by a microcatheter.
Introduction: Functional connectivity is attracting increasing attention for understanding the pathophysiology of depression and predicting the therapeutic efficacy of antidepressants. In this study, we evaluated effective connectivity using isolated effective coherence (iCoh), an effective functional connectivity analysis method developed from low-resolution brain electromagnetic tomography (LORETA) and estimated its practical usefulness for predicting the reaction to antidepressants in theta and alpha band iCoh values.
Methods: We enrolled 25 participants from a depression treatment randomized study (the GUNDAM study) in which electroencephalography was performed before treatment.
Background: Elevated levels of triglyceride (TG) and non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (non-HDL-C) are regarded as a residual lipid risk in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C)-lowering therapy. This study investigated the association between lipid risk stratified by TG and non-HDL-C and the prognosis of patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), and the association between stratified lipid risk and flow-mediated dilatation (FMD) index.
Methods and results: The 624 CAD patients enrolled in flow-mediated dilation (FMD)-J study A were divided into 4 groups: low-risk group (n=413) with TG <150 mg/dL and non-HDL-C <170 mg/dL; hyper-TG group (n=180) with TG ≥150 mg/dL and non-HDL-C <170 mg/dL; hyper-non-HDL group (n=12) with TG <150 mg/dL and non-HDL-C ≥170 mg/dL; and high-risk group (n=19) with TG ≥150 mg/dL and non-HDL-C ≥170 mg/dL.
Purpose: Acid-suppressive drugs (ASDs) are often prescribed for patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) taking oral anticoagulants (OACs). However, the risk-benefit balance of ASDs prescription for patients with NVAF taking OACs is still unclear. This study aimed to assess the association between ASDs and clinical outcomes in patients taking OACs for NVAF.

Most SGLT2 inhibitors have been reported to exert dose-dependent effects. However, little is known about the benefits of increasing the dose of SGLT2 inhibitors in clinical use.

Methods: We included 1523 patients enrolled in the Japan COVID-19 Task Force cohort between February 2020 and May 2021. We compared the clinical characteristics, including co-morbidities, laboratory findings, and outcomes, particularly invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV), among patients with and without abnormal uric acid levels or a history of hyperuricemia.
Objective: We performed a retrospective observational study to demonstrate the surgical risks and long-term prognoses of intramedullary tumors in Japan using a multicenter registry authorized by the Neurospinal Society of Japan.
Methods: Data from 1,033 consecutive patients with intramedullary tumors, treated between 2009 and 2020, were collected from 58 centers. Patients with spinal lipomas or myxopapillary ependymomas were excluded.
The supernumerary robotic limb system expands the motor function of human users by adding extra artificially designed limbs. It is important for us to embody the system as if it is a part of one's own body and to maintain cognitive transparency in which the cognitive load is suppressed. Embodiment studies have been conducted with an expansion of bodily functions through a "substitution" and "extension".

Therefore, to improve early-phase aortic enhancement on dynamic computed tomography (CT), we developed an estimated cardiac index fractional dose (eciFD). The eciFD protocol is a novel and original protocol for administering fractional dose (FD), representing the amount of iodine per unit body weight per injection duration, based on cardiac index (cardiac output divided by body surface area) as estimated by age in early-phase dynamic CT.

The incidence and demographic profile of malignant eyelid tumors were analyzed.
Th17 cells are implicated in allergic inflammatory diseases, including allergic rhinitis (AR), though the effect of steroids on Th17 cell-dependent nasal responses is unclear. Herein, we investigated a nasal inflammation model elicited by allergen provocation in mice infused with Th17 cells and its responsiveness against steroid treatment. We transferred BALB/c mice with Th17 cells, which were differentiated in vitro and showed a specific reaction to ovalbumin (OVA).

Due to technological limitations, the isolation of these processes is challenging, and therefore, the interpretation of changes in muscle activity frequency is still controversial. Recent studies showed that the spectrum of sEMG signals recorded from isotonic and short-term isometric contractions can be decomposed into independent components whose spectral features recall those of motor unit action potentials.
