The serotonin transporter belongs to the family of sodium-chloride coupled neurotransmitter transporter and is related to depression in humans. It is therefore an important drug target to support treatment of depression. Recently, structures of human serotonin transporter in complex with inhibitor molecules have been published.

ArgA transfers the acetyl group from the acetyl-CoA to either l-glutamate or l-glutamine, which are the known substrates. Here, we present two crystal structures of ArgA: one complexed with CoA and product bound N-acetylglutamine and the other complexed with acetyl-CoA and the inhibitor l-arginine at 2.

Although PIN (PilT N-terminal)-domain proteins are known to have ribonuclease activity, their specific mechanism of action remains unknown. VapCs form a family of ribonucleases that possess a PIN-domain assembly and are known as toxins. The activities of VapCs are impaired by VapB antitoxins.

Prostate apoptosis response-4 protein is an intrinsically disordered pro-apoptotic protein with tumour suppressor function. Par-4 is known for its selective induction of apoptosis in cancer cells only and its ability to interact with various apoptotic proteins via its C-terminus. Par-4, with its unique function and various interacting partners, has gained importance as a potential target for cancer therapy.
