Background: There is little data in developing countries such as Nigeria with regard to the impact of caring for their children with intellectual and reading disability (IRD) on the quality of life of the parents and the risk of psychopathology.
Objective: The main objective of the study was to assess the level of psychopathology, i.e.
Background/objective: Different studies have shown the prevalence of high level of social adjustment among English learners with hearing impairment. The objective of the present study was to investigate the effect of peer tutoring as a social adjustment intervention among English learners with hearing impairment in special primary schools in Enugu State, Nigeria.
Method: The area of the study was Enugu State.
This study was aimed at analyzing the water quality of Ele River Nnewi, Anambra State for irrigation purposes with a view to predicting a one-year water quality index using Artificial Neural Network (ANN). Water pollution has posed a major problem and identifying the points of pollution in the River system is a very difficult task. To overcome this task, the need to determine the pollution level arose by modeling and predicting four water quality parameters at four (4) different locations using the Artificial Neural Network.

To address this issue, continual flood vulnerability mapping exploring more efficient methods is needed to facilitate flood risk management in the state. The advantages of employing spatial information technologies such as Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) in flood vulnerability mapping has been widely documented; the limitations of employing GIS alone in effective vulnerability analysis have also been documented by researchers.

Background: To plan and implement appropriate management of patients with blindness and visual impairment (VI) requires the knowledge of the common presenting causes.
Aim: The aim of the following study is to determine the common causes of VI in adults and develop a template for eye care delivery.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective descriptive analysis of subjects aged 17 years and above who attended LAUTECH Teaching Hospital eye clinic between October 2012 and March 2013.
Aims/objectives: To determine the ocular status of commercial vehicle drivers in Osun State, Western Nigeria and highlight the effect on safety on the road.
Design: A cross-sectional-survey utilizing a multistage-random-sampling-technique done between May and June 2004.
Participants: 99 consenting commercial vehicle drivers, registered with NURTW, Osogbo.
Background: Tear gas is a noxious vapour used in quelling civil disturbances. The law enforcement agents who usually handle this are well trained and rarely injured by the use of this weapon especially during peace times.
Methods: We report injuries sustained by two policemen handling tear gas as a result of accidents.

This is to illustrate the case of a 14 year old male student of a secondary school who fell off the top of an unguarded bunk bed in his hostel while sleeping and sustained a fracture of the left orbital margin, severe periorbital echymosis and conjunctivitis. He was managed conservatively. Two weeks post injury; the swelling resolved.

A high prevalence of such practices and the attendant public health significance have been reported in different regions of the world, yet studies related to this are generally lacking in this region. Semi-structured questionnaires were administered to 142 ophthalmic patients presenting newly to the out-patient unit of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria.

Materials And Methods: The study was carried out in the eye clinic of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Osogbo between May and June 2004. A stratified random sample technique was used to select 99 drivers (198 eyes) from 6 motor park units.
Unlabelled: We describe an affordable, easily available technique to relieve discomfort, free the eyeball and partially rehabilitate a patient with ocular complications of end stage Stevens Johnson syndrome.
Material And Methods: Two eyes of a patient with severe adhesions between the lids, bulbar conjunctiva and cornea were involved. After taking consent from patient, the adhesions were separated and the fornices were dressed with sofratulle and artificial lubricants until healing was complete.
Background: Redness of the eye is a common ophthalmic symptom. The problem causing redness could arise from within or outside the globe. These range from cases of simple inflammation following itching and minor trauma for example, to severe cases like orbital cellulitis and tumours.

She was managed by artificial ventilation and haemodynamic support without any cardiac or neurological sequelae. This report highlights this rare but fatal complication of suspected brain stem anaesthesia after retrobulbar anaesthesia.
