Background: Around five billion people globally lack access to safe, timely, and affordable surgical facilities and care in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs). Global initiatives have been launched, including efforts led by organizations. Also, regional efforts have shed light on the unique challenges faced by different areas within LMICs.

Methods: Patients were randomized into the control group (CG) (n = 14) and intervention group (IG) (n = 14).
Purpose: We aimed to compare the diagnostic performance of 68Ga-FAPI-04 (FAPI) in comparison to 68Ga-DOTATATE (SSTR) PET/CT for patients presenting with recurrent medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC).
Patients And Methods: Sixteen MTC patients with elevated calcitonin levels (>150 pg/mL) underwent FAPI and SSTR PET/CT. Two nuclear medicine physicians evaluated all images, categorizing lesions into locoregional metastases, mediastinal lymph nodes (LNs), liver, and bone metastases.

Background: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and clinicopathological correlates of intestinal endometriosis, amongst other extra-pelvic endometriosis foci, presenting as bowel obstruction in general surgery practice.
Methods: A total of 23 female patients (mean ± SD age: 34.9 ± 6.
: Metastatic breast cancer (MBC), particularly the HER2-positive subtype, represents a significant clinical challenge, with approximately 20-25% of breast cancer cases demonstrating HER2 overexpression. Trastuzumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting HER2, has significantly improved outcomes in these patients. However, progression after second-line treatments such as trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) necessitates exploring subsequent therapeutic options.

Different studies reported the use of an ARNI in patients using left ventricular assist devices (LVADs). However, there are limited data on the use of ARNIs in this population.

This study aims to investigate the effects of the pandemic on the treatment process and short-term outcomes of breast cancer patients. This retrospective, cross-sectional, single-center study included 414 patients who underwent surgery for breast cancer at the Inonu University General Surgery Clinic between March 2018 and June 2021.

Electro-coagulated sludge was obtained during the removal of citric acid wastewater by the electrocoagulation process. The following parameters were optimized for Cr(VI) reduction: pH (5-7), initial Cr(VI) concentration (10-50 mg/L), contact time (10-45 min), and adsorbent dosage (0.

One of the chief pathophysiological mechanisms driving these conditions is neuroinflammation, prompting increasing clinical interest in immunomodulatory agents. Growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15; previously also called macrophage inhibitory cytokine-1 or MIC-1), an anti-inflammatory cytokine with established neurotrophic properties, has emerged as a promising therapeutic agent in recent decades.

It has been reported that combination therapy is more effective than ET alone and is safe in elderly patients as well as young patients. Nevertheless, elderly and very old patients with HR+/HER2-MBC treated with CDK4/6 inhibitor (CDK4/6i) combinations are relatively underrepresented in randomized controlled trials.

Methods: A retrospective study included 235 patients who had Aspergillus PCR tests performed on respiratory samples (bronchoalveolar lavage, non-bronchoscopic lavage, and sputum) from November 2020 to April 2022.
Results: Of 293 tests, 11.
Background: Extracellular vesicles are easily accessible in various biofluids and allow the assessment of disease-related changes in the proteome. This has made them a promising target for biomarker studies, especially in the field of neurodegeneration where access to diseased tissue is very limited. Genetic variants in the LRRK2 gene have been linked to both familial and sporadic forms of Parkinson's disease.

Introduction: It is known that combat athletes frequently lose weight before a competition. This study aimed to determine the weight loss methods before an official championship and the effects of these weight loss methods on the performance of wrestlers.
Method: The sample of the study consisted of 350 competitive wrestlers.
This study encompasses the validation of a simple, rapid, and sensitive HPLC/UV method developed in accordance with the guidelines set by ICH Q2(R2) for obtaining the active pharmaceutical ingredient from the glycosaminoglycan family in topical formulations. Previous methods reported for analyzing glycosaminoglycans in semisolid formulations are relatively complex and time-consuming, involving extraction, purification, and derivatization. This developed analytical method allows for straightforward extraction of the active pharmaceutical ingredient from the matrix, enabling the direct injection of samples.

The aim of this study was to compare and define the differences in clinical, demographic and polysomnographic characteristics of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients in long and short AHD groups and investigate the relationship between apnea-hypopnea index (AHI), oxygen desaturation index (ODI), and sleepiness.
Methods: The cross-sectional analysis included 511 OSA patients who were >18 years and followed up between June 2019 and December 2019 in the Sleep Center of university hospital.
Introduction: Despite the rapid evolution in management of metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) over the past decade, challenges remain in accessing new therapies in some parts of the world. Despite therapeutic advancements, attrition rates remain persistently high. This study aims to assess the treatment patterns and attrition rates of patients with mRCC in oncology clinics across Turkey.

Purpose: To evaluate the natural history of dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) through advanced retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) analysis and sub-RPE illumination (SRI) data and to elucidate their correlation with disease progression.
Methods: A total of 82 patients with dry AMD were included in this longitudinal study. Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) was utilized to evaluate central macular thickness (CMT), central retinal thickness (CRT), foveal outer nuclear layer (ONL) thickness, and ellipsoid zone (EZ) integrity.
Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2-i) have been shown to reduce risks of clinical events in patients with heart failure (HF). However, data on the use of SGLT2-i in patients with left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) are scarce. We thought to assess the efficacy and safety of SGLT2-i in patients with LVADs.
