Article Synopsis
  • The aim is to enhance the training of periodontics specialists by updating competencies, learning outcomes, and evaluation methods in response to the 2018 Classification of Periodontal Diseases and EFP Clinical Guidelines.
  • The research involved gathering evidence from scientific databases and European higher education policies, alongside surveys sent to program directors and graduates.
  • Results showed that curricula are regularly updated, graduates feel positively about their training, though concerns exist regarding mucogingival and surgical instruction, and there’s a shift towards more interactive teaching methods while assessments should incorporate diverse evaluation techniques.*

Background And Objectives: Declines in stroke admission, IV thrombolysis (IVT), and mechanical thrombectomy volumes were reported during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. There is a paucity of data on the longer-term effect of the pandemic on stroke volumes over the course of a year and through the second wave of the pandemic. We sought to measure the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the volumes of stroke admissions, intracranial hemorrhage (ICH), IVT, and mechanical thrombectomy over a 1-year period at the onset of the pandemic (March 1, 2020, to February 28, 2021) compared with the immediately preceding year (March 1, 2019, to February 29, 2020).

Background: In a phase 1 trial, axicabtagene ciloleucel (axi-cel), an autologous anti-CD19 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy, showed efficacy in patients with refractory large B-cell lymphoma after the failure of conventional therapy.

Methods: In this multicenter, phase 2 trial, we enrolled 111 patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma, or transformed follicular lymphoma who had refractory disease despite undergoing recommended prior therapy. Patients received a target dose of 2×10 anti-CD19 CAR T cells per kilogram of body weight after receiving a conditioning regimen of low-dose cyclophosphamide and fludarabine.

We have studied the production of B hadrons in 1.8-TeV pp[over ¯] collisions. We present measurements of the fragmentation fractions, f_{u}, f_{d}, f_{s}, and f_{baryon}, of produced b quarks that yield B^{+}, B^{0}, B_{s}^{0}, and Λ[over ¯]_{b}^{0} hadrons.
