[Hedonism and revolution. The reception of psychoanalysis in the Berlin student movement in the 1960s].

The article takes hedonism and revolution as a vantage point to discuss the Kommune 2, an experiment in collective living, the anti-authoritarian kindergardens for the under-fives, and, last but not least, a speech in 1968 that spurred the women's movement in Western Germany. The author's interest is on the materials documenting how the Berlin student movement saw psychoanalysis: One point was that the pleasure principle should replace the reality principle for the sake of humankind, another that the authoritarian character structure has its roots in the denial of sexuality. Kindergarden children supposedly need "de-individualized identification" to develop ego-strength, when boys and girls differ in their superego organization.

Efficacy, tolerability and safety of propiverine hydrochloride in comparison to oxybutynin in children with urge incontinence due to overactive bladder: Results of a multicentre observational cohort study.

Objective: To compare, in a retrospective observational cohort study, the efficacy, tolerability and safety of propiverine and oxybutynin in children with urge incontinence (UI) due to overactive bladder.

Patients And Methods: Medical records were scrutinized for children with UI. As a primary efficacy outcome variable the achievement of continence after treatment with variable doses of propiverine or oxybutynin was assessed.

[APC resistance due to factor V Leiden mutation presenting as acute hemorrhagic jejunal infarction--case report].

We report on a 43-year-old patient presenting to the emergency department with acute abdominal pain the source of which turned out to be acute hemorrhagic jejunal infarction due to portal and mesenteric vein occlusion with no apparent cause. In spite of a lacking history of hereditary thrombophilic risk factors, further diagnostic procedures revealed heterozygous factor V Leiden mutation. Diagnosis, therapy and clinical course are described.

Switching immunosuppression from cyclosporine to tacrolimus improves long-term kidney function: a 6-year study.

To improve long-term kidney graft function, acute graft rejection, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, and toxic influences must be avoided because they may contribute to chronic allograft nephropathy. Many studies have demonstrated greater efficacy and tolerability of tacrolimus compared with cyclosporine with regard to these conditions. Our study investigated whether 30 patients with deteriorating renal function benefitted from conversion to tacrolimus based upon a retrospective analysis using data recorded from 3 years before to 3 years after conversion.

Differential effects of cyclosporine and tacrolimus on mycophenolate pharmacokinetics in patients with impaired kidney function.

In a single-center prospective randomized controlled study, the impact of calcineurin inhibitor (CNI) reduction or withdrawal on the pharmacokinetics of mycophenolic acid (MPA) was studied in a group of renal transplant recipients with impaired renal function. Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) was added to a baseline regimen of prednisolone and CNI. Afterwards the patients were randomized into "CNI withdrawal" and "CNI continuation" groups.
