The protective effect of erythropoietin on ischemia- reperfusion injury caused by ovarian torsion-detorsion in the experimental rat model.

Ovarian torsion is one of the most dangerous gynecological emergencies requiring surgery. A total of 50%-90% ovarian torsion cases are caused by physiological cysts, endometriosis, and other benign or malignant ovarian neoplasms. The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of erythropoietin (EPO) treatment on ischemia/reperfusion (IR) injury caused by ovarian torsion/detorsion (T/D) injury.

Effect of ferulic acid on testicular damage caused by torsion-detorsion in rats.

Testicular torsion is twisting of the spermatic cord around its axis, which impairs blood flow and causes ischemia and formation of free radicals. Ferulic acid is a phenolic acid of the hydroxycinnamic family that is found in the seeds and leaves of plants; it is present in substantial amounts in fruits and vegetables. We investigated the protective effect of ferulic acid on experimental testicular torsion in rats.

The effects of hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism on placental Hofbauer cells of pregnant rats.

We investigated the effects of maternal thyroid disorders on Hofbauer cells of both the placenta and the fetus in pregnant rats. We divided 21 rats into three groups: control group, induced hypothyroidism (hypo) group and induced hyperthyroidism (hyper) group. Hypothyroidism was induced using propylthiouracil and hyperthyroidism was induced using L-thyroxine.

The effect of ferulic acid on experimental traumatic brain damage in rats.

Aim: Traumatic brain injury is an important social health problem due to the fact that young adults are more likely to be affected, and advanced functional limitations are observed in survivors. In this study, we aimed to investigate the protective effect of ferulic acid in an experimental trauma model.
