Background: Perioperative fluid management is critical in neurosurgery as over perfusion can lead to brain edema whereas under perfusion may lead to brain hypoperfusion or ischemia. We aimed to determine the effectiveness of intraoperative goal-directed fluid therapy (GDFT) in patients undergoing intracranial surgeries.

 Surgery to masculinize the chest is a frequently sought-after procedure by transmen who wish to conform their physical appearance to their gender identity. In our study, the outcomes of surgical masculinization comprising subcutaneous mastectomy through a modified elliptical incision, liposuction, reduced inert nipple-areola grafting, and quilting stitches were analyzed.  Thirty-two transmen with large breasts and hypertrophied nipples and areolae underwent the above-mentioned masculinizing procedure in this prospective cohort study.

Cochlear implant surgeries have become increasingly common in India, leading to a rise in complications such as cochlear implant exposure. To address this issue, we present a novel technique involving a single incision dual cover using the temporoparietal fascial flap (TPFF) and skin flap to give durable cover for exposed cochlear implants.  A retrospective study was conducted between December 2019 and December 2022 on patients who underwent the dual flap procedure for exposed cochlear implants.

In the last few decades, our understanding of the complex pathobiology of uterine fibroid development has grown. While previously believed to be a purely neoplastic entity, we now understand that uterine fibroids possess different and equally important aspects of their genesis. An increasing body of evidence suggests that oxidative stress, the imbalance between pro- and antioxidants, is an important factor in fibroid development.

Uterine leiomyomas are the most common benign tumors of the female reproductive system. Obese individuals have a higher burden of uterine leiomyoma, yet the mechanism relating obesity and leiomyoma development remains unknown. In this study, we observe the effect of adipocyte coculture and leptin treatment on human myometrium and leiomyoma cells.
