Objectives: To assess the efficacy of endovascular treatment and clinical outcomes in individuals with symptomatic intracranial stenosis who had not responded adequately to medical intervention.

Methods: The study included 32 patients who received endovascular treatment due to high-grade (70%-99% severity) intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis from December 2021 to December 2023. The patients had not experienced any acute ischemic or hemorrhagic infarction within the last three weeks, had a Modified Rankin Scale score of ≤3 at baseline, and developed a transient ischemic attack or non-disabling stroke despite having received the best medical treatment.

This study aims to find out how the crystallinity quality, surface morphology, and mechanical performances change with the substitution of yttrium (Y) for bismuth (Bi) impurity within molar ratios of 0.00 ≤ x ≤ 0.12 in the BiYSrCaCuO (Bi-2212) cuprates to reveal the dependence of micro surface topology on the substitution mechanism and achieve a strong relation between the impurity ions and crystallization mechanism.

Objective: To investigate the effect of embolic protection device (EPD) use on periprocedural complications in patients with carotid artery stenosis with anatomical variations.

Method: The study retrospectively evaluated 185 patients who consecutively underwent carotid artery stenting between November 2020 and December 2023. Forty-four patients with difficult anatomical structures, anatomical variations in the common carotid artery (CCA) and internal carotid artery (ICA) (tortuosity, kinking, or coiling), and a CCA-ICA angle of >60 degrees were included in the sample.

In this experimental study, the initial phase involved preparing composite structures with various mix ratios using the Ti-6Al-4V alloy, widely used in clinical applications, in conjunction with ZrO and hydroxyapatite (HA) synthesized via the precipitation method, employing powder metallurgy techniques. Subsequently, the microstructures of the resultant hybrid composite materials were imaged, and x-ray diffraction (XRD) phase analyses were conducted. In the final phase of the experimental work, tests were performed to determine the biocompatibility properties of the hybrid composites.

Pseudoaneurysm (PA) and carotid cavernous fistula (CCF) of the internal carotid artery (ICA) is an uncommon complication of endoscopic endonasal surgery that occurs in 1% of cases. We report on the successful placement of flow-diverting stents (FDS) to ICA pseudoaneurysm and caroticocavernous fistula caused by iatrogenic ICA injury for a pituitary adenoma in a 37-year-old female. After placement of the pipeline shield given a certain time, dual antiplatelet agents (DAPT) and follow-up angiogram verified complete aneurysm obliteration and effective endoluminal reconstruction of the injured vessel.
