Article Synopsis
  • Uterine fibroids are common benign tumors in the uterus, but their removal (myomectomy) may not improve IVF success in women with non-cavity-distorting intramural fibroids.
  • A study at Acibadem Maslak Hospital analyzed 128 women who underwent IVF, comparing those who had myomectomy to those who did not, all of whom experienced at least two IVF failures.
  • Results showed no significant difference in IVF and pregnancy outcomes between the two groups, indicating that myomectomy does not substantially influence pregnancy or live birth rates.

Objective: This study aimed to determine whether or not there was a relationship between complete hydatidiform mole (CHM) and serum Vitamin D level by comparing CHM patients with two control groups and to determine whether or not Vitamin D deficiency is a risk factor for CHM.

Patients And Methods: This prospective study included 30 patients diagnosed with CHM (case group), 30 patients in the first trimester of a healthy pregnancy (control group), and 30 healthy non-pregnant subjects (control group). A record was made of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25-OH D vitamin) levels, age, body mass index (BMI), gravida, parity, and the number of abortus.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to compare two groups of HELLP syndrome patients: those requiring intensive care (group 1) and those who do not (group 2), focusing on factors affecting their ICU stay.
  • A total of 342 HELLP patients were analyzed, with 32 needing ICU care, averaging 8.1 days in the unit; group 1 had significantly higher amounts of certain transfusions, particularly erythrocyte suspension.
  • The findings suggest that increased erythrocyte suspension transfusions are linked to longer ICU stays and higher maternal morbidity and mortality, indicating the need for cautious management in these patients.

Aim: This study aims to determine an important parameter in progression from pre-invasive lesions of endometrium to endometrial cancer and also evaluate the effect of this parameter on the progression of endometrial cancer.

Material And Method: In our study,30 patients with normal endometrial tissue (group 1), 56 patients who had endometrial hyperplasia without atypia (group 2), 36 patients who had endometrial hyperplasia with atypia (group 3), and 63 patients with endometrial cancer (group 4) were included. Age, parity, body-mass index, systemic diseases, and tumor markers of patients were evaluated.
