Purpose: To investigate the effects of varicocelectomy on premature ejaculation (PE) in patients with varicocele and infertility.

Methods: A total of 82 sexually active patients aged 18 years or over who had undergone microscopic subinguinal varicocelectomy with a clinical diagnosis of varicocele in 14 urology clinics between October 2021 and March 2023 with primary infertility were evaluated prospectively Patients were evaluated using the Turkish validated form of the 'Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool' (PEDT) scale. A PEDT score of 11 or above was taken to indicate the presence of PE.

Background: The hemoglobin, albumin, lymphocyte and platelet (HALP) score integrates readily available blood markers that reflect systemic inflammation, nutritional status, and immune response, all of which can influence cancer progression. This study investigated the association between the HALP score and clinicopathological characteristics in patients with testicular tumor.

Methods: Data of patients who underwent radical orchiectomy for testicular tumors between January 2020 and January 2024 were reviewed.

Article Synopsis
  • A study was conducted with 1703 males and 139 female partners in Turkey to measure average penis size and evaluate couples' perspectives on its importance for sexual satisfaction.
  • The findings showed that the average flaccid penis length was 8.44 cm and the average stretched length was 12.27 cm, with girth measuring 8.23 cm; both males and females considered erect length and girth important for sexual pleasure.
  • Despite the participants' beliefs about the significance of penis size, comparisons indicated no major difference between average measurements and ideal lengths, suggesting many men may not need surgery to meet perceived standards.

Purpose Of The Study: To investigate the effects of anatomical variations on the mechanism of scaphoid fracture by comparing the radiologic parameters of the wrist of patients with and without scaphoid fracture after a fall on an outstretched hand.

Material And Methods: Cross-sectional comparative retrospective analysis of radiographs of patients with (Group 1, n=169) and without scaphoid fracture (Group 2, n=188). Morphometric data were measured including radial inclination (RI), radial height (RH), ulnar variance (UV), carpal height (CH) ratio, revised carpal height (RCH) ratio and palmar tilt of the distal radius (PT).

Proton radiography is a promising development in proton therapy, and researchers are currently exploring optimal detector materials to construct proton radiography detector arrays. High-density glass scintillators may improve integrating-mode proton radiography detectors by increasing spatial resolution and decreasing detector thickness. We evaluated several new scintillators, activated with europium or terbium, with proton response measurements and Monte Carlo simulations, characterizing relative luminosity, ionization quenching, and proton radiograph spatial resolution.
