Background: Multi-cancer early detection (MCED) tests may expand cancer screening. Characterizing diagnostic resolution approaches following positive MCED tests is critical. Two trials employed distinct resolution approaches: a molecular signal to predict tissue of origin (TOO) and an imaging-based diagnostic strategy.

To evaluate the efficacy of a digital health intervention (DHI), compared with attention control, on changes in DASH adherence and blood pressure among adults with hypertension.
Methods: Nourish was a 12-month, parallel, 2-arm, randomized controlled trial of a virtually delivered DHI.
Maintaining a pair bond year after year (perennial monogamy) often enhances reproductive success, but what familiar pairs are doing differently to improve success is unknown. We tested the hypothesis that endocrine changes mediate improvements in parental attendance in known-age Cassin's auklets , for which we found limited evidence. Instead, we found sex-specific parental roles in familiar pairs.

Zebra finches () are monogamously paired for life and maintain continuous partnerships, raising questions as to if and how they maintain pair cohesion despite being non-territorial and having only short-range acoustic signals. While zebra finches are the best-studied songbird in captivity, their social and spatial behaviour in the wild is poorly understood.

The current analysis explores the influences of remote recruitment and screening protocols on participation in a digital health intervention (DHI) to promote the evidence-based Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) eating pattern.
Methods: Nourish was a 12-month randomized controlled trial comparing the effectiveness of a DHI to an attention control arm among US adults with hypertension.

Youth have been increasingly struggling with their mental health, leading to an unprecedented rise in emergency room visits and inpatient psychiatric admissions. It is prudent for mental health providers to be familiar with all services within a continuum of care that can address the early phases of a crisis, allowing youth to remain in the community while being treated. The system of care (SOC) approach has demonstrated positive effects in mitigating the need for hospital-based services.

Despite advances in pre and in-hospital care, OHCA survival remains low and is highly variable across systems and regions. The critical barrier to improving cardiac arrest outcomes is not a lack of knowledge about effective interventions, but rather the widespread lack of systems of care to deliver interventions known to be successful.

This study examined the rates and management of self-reported hearing loss in urban Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults. Methods A retrospective, observational study of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged ≥15years who had annual health checks at an urban Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary healthcare clinic in Inala, Queensland, was conducted to determine self-reported hearing loss rates by age and ethnic groups stratified by sex.

In songbirds, nest predation is rarely observed directly, so that research focusses primarily on the consequences of predation and less on the behaviour of the predator. Here, we report predation data in a zebra finch () nest box population, highlighting a 22-min-long sequence, captured on video, of a sand goanna () predating a zebra finch nest in the wild.

Viruses have co-opted XPO1 to promote nucleocytoplasmic transport of viral proteins and RNA. Maize mosaic virus (MMV) is a plant-infecting rhabdovirus transmitted in a circulative propagative manner by the corn planthopper, Peregrinus maidis.

The algorithm places minimal restrictions on the velocities or accelerations of the objects being tracked and uses a methodology based on a scoring function and a backtracking refinement process. This combination leads to successful tracking of hundreds of particles in challenging environments even when the displacement of the individual objects at successive times approaches the separation between neighboring objects in any one frame.

However, engineered tissue scaffolds composed of PU have not found their way into clinical application, mainly due to the difficulty of balancing the control of material properties with the desired cellular response. A simple method for the synthesis of tunable bioactive poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) hydrogels containing photocurable PU is described.

Design And Methods: We enrolled 24 adults within household pairs, in which at least one member had self-reported kidney disease, diabetes, or hypertension. CKD was classified based on estimated glomerular filtration rate < 60 mL/min/1.
Objectives: To explore the views of parents and carers regarding the management of acute otitis media in urban Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who are at low risk of complications living in urban communities.
Study Design: Qualitative study; semi-structured interviews and short telephone survey.
Setting, Participants: Interviews: purposive sample of parents and carers of urban Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children (18 months - 16 years old) screened in Aboriginal medical services in Queensland, New South Wales, and Canberra for the WATCH study, a randomised controlled trial that compared immediate antibiotic therapy with watchful waiting for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children with acute otitis media.
Modern sensor technologies increasingly enrich studies in wildlife behavior and ecology. However, constraints on weight, connectivity, energy and memory availability limit their implementation. With the advent of edge computing, there is increasing potential to mitigate these constraints, and drive major advancements in wildlife studies.

The minimum effective concentration, following artificial infestation trials on maize, was between 10 and 10 cfu/kg maize. Before moving out to village-level control, a major requirement was to determine if the product could effect control in artificially infested maize held under real environmental conditions in several locations in Ghana.

This risk can be anxiety provoking in breast reconstruction patients given their history of cancer or increased future risk. The purpose of this study is to evaluate current practice trends when managing the concerned asymptomatic patient following textured implant-based breast reconstruction.

Methods: One hundred forty patients with RH were randomly assigned to a 4-mo program of dietary counseling, behavioral weight management, and exercise (C-LIFE) or a single counseling session providing standardized education and physician advice (SEPA). Participants completed a battery of questionnaires to assess psychological functioning before and after the intervention.
Objective: This study investigates the effectiveness of demineralized bone matrix (DBX) to close alveolar clefts in patients previously treated with bone morphogenic protein-2 (BMP-2) who remained with bone nonunion.
Design: This is an IRB-approved retrospective, single-center study.
Setting: This study was conducted at a tertiary academic center.
Individuals with resistant hypertension (RH) have the greatest risk of cerebrovascular disease and cognitive impairment among individuals with hypertension. Elevated levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines may represent a critical yet unexamined factor influencing the impact of healthy lifestyle changes on cognitive function. We explored the influence of inflammation on changes in cognition following lifestyle modification among individuals with RH participating in the TRIUMPH clinical trial.
