Background: India is undergoing a significant demographic shift with a growing older population, leading to an anticipated increase in people with dementia. Family caregivers, who are predominantly informal, carry the burden of care within households, facing numerous challenges that impact their well-being. Despite the cultural emphasis on family support, there is a lack of targeted interventions for caregivers in India.

Identifying effective and accessible interventions for family caregivers of persons with dementia (PWD) is crucial as the prevalence of dementia increases in Asia. This study investigated the efficacy of a telephone-intervention on the reduction in caregiver burden, as well as depressive and anxiety symptoms among family caregivers (FCs) of PWD in Malaysia. A single-blinded randomized controlled trial was carried out with 121 FCs of PWD selected from memory or psychiatry clinics in three tertiary hospitals in Malaysia, who were randomly allocated into the intervention or control group.

This study evaluated clinical correlates of perceived stigma in a research sample of PLWE considered to be at high risk due to frequent seizures or other negative health events.
Methods: Analyses were derived from baseline data from an ongoing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-funded randomized controlled trial (RCT) testing an epilepsy self-management approach.
Background: The majority of persons with dementia (PWD) are mainly cared for by their family members in the home. Evidence is however scarce on family caregivers' psychosocial burden and quality of life in Asian countries including Malaysia. This study describes the baseline data of a telephone-delivered psychoeducational intervention study and examines the determinants of outcome measures (caregiver burden, depressive and anxiety symptoms, quality of life and caregiving self-efficacy) among Malaysian family caregivers to PWD.

Approximately, 12% of persons with dementia have immigrant background. Within the next 20 years, the number of persons with dementia who are non-ethnic Swedes is said to double.

This analysis using baseline data from an epilepsy self-management clinical trial targeting people from rural regions and other underserved populations assessed the relationship between demographic and clinical variables vs. NHEs.

This approach facilitates complete discectomy, disc space distraction, indirect decompression of neural foramina and placement of large interbody devices. Several intra- and postoperative complications can be attributed to the anterior approach: vascular/visceral injury, hypogastric plexus injury and urogenital consequences.

Methods: A descriptive qualitative study with a total of seven healthcare professionals were recruited from a non-governmental organisation in rural Bangladesh. Individual in-depth interviews were conducted in November 2018 using a semi-structured interview guide.
Recently published experience has shown that endovascular management of the aortic arch, including sealing in the proximal zones, can be a viable option for patients considered unfit for conventional open repair. Endograft designs vary and include single or multibranch devices, with or without the addition of surgical debranching. Initial reports show that both techniques can be performed with high technical success and acceptable perioperative morbidity and mortality rates in high volume centers.

Living with a partner with cognitive symptoms can be stressful; however, there is limited insights into the specific experiences of older women during the assessment process. Previous research indicates that there are gender differences in the experiences of spousal caregiving; however, further research is needed in regard to the experiences of men and women as care partners.

Our aim was to explore factors associated with access-related complications and their impact on procedural time and LOS.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed consecutive aorto-iliac endovascular procedures in a tertiary hub comprising 2 institutions and 18 consultant vascular surgeons and interventional radiologists between 2016-2017.
Summary Background Data: Aneurysms of the arch are a complex clinical problem and a technical challenge. Currently, over 40% of patients are considered unfit for conventional open surgery, requiring a cardiopulmonary bypass and hypothermic circulatory arrest. In experienced hands and appropriate anatomic conditions, arch-branched graft technology has shown to be a safe and effective alternative to open conventional surgery to patients that historically have had no surgical options.

The scope of this paper was to describe the health promotion practices developed in a community school in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro in the light of public policies and the school culture. It sought to analyze the significance attributed by the students to these practices and discuss the model of care and health promotion practices developed at school, based on the meanings attributed to such practices by the subjects under study. The qualitative and ethnographic approach supported by Geertz facilitated an understanding of the significance emerging around the health issue.

Aim: To describe older persons' experiences of a cognitive assessment and possible neuropsychiatric symptoms [NPS] related to a neurocognitive diagnosis.
Background: A cognitive assessment in primary care is offered to persons with suspected dementia with subsequent referral to a specialist clinic if required. The assessment process, with the likelihood of receiving a dementia diagnosis, is surrounded by uncertainty with long waiting times.
Objective: Use of colour duplex ultrasound (CDUS) and computed tomography angiography (CTA) for infrarenal endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) surveillance differs in internationally published guidelines. This study aimed firstly to compare CDUS detection of significant sac abnormalities with CTA. Secondly, a sensitivity analysis was conducted to compare financial estimates of the, predominantly CDUS based, local and Society of Vascular Surgery (SVS) protocols, the risk stratified European Society of Vascular Surgery (ESVS) protocol, and the CTA based National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) protocol.

An evidence-based remotely delivered self-management program (SMART) that was successfully delivered in an urban/suburban setting has the potential to be particularly helpful to PLWE who live in rural communities, where heavy stigma burden and limited access to healthcare is common. In this Phase 1 exploratory study, focus groups of key rural stakeholders (PLWE, family members, care providers) were used to: (1) gather information on factors that may impede or facilitate participation in SMART and (2) elicit overall perceptions of the program, as well as suggestions and feedback for refining it for implementation in Phase 2 of the randomized controlled study (RCT).

Although cells of mushroom-producing fungi typically contain paired haploid nuclei (n + n), most Armillaria gallica vegetative cells are uninucleate. As vegetative nuclei are produced by fusions of paired haploid nuclei, they are thought to be diploid (2n). Here we report finding haploid vegetative nuclei in A.
