Background: Long-acting beta2-agonists (LABA) in combination with inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) are commonly used to treat asthma, however, some children lack response to the addition of LABA. This might be partially due to the presence of the Arg16Gly polymorphism, encoded by rs1042713 G>A in the ADRB2 gene. Carrying the A allele (Arg16) at this variant has been associated with an increased risk of exacerbations despite LABA treatment.

Therefore, this study aimed to provide an overview of 30-day postoperative complications for NEC. Secondary, risk factors for minor and major short-term postoperative complications were identified.

The primary objectives in AF management are symptom relief, stroke risk reduction, and prevention of tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy. Two key strategies for rhythm control include antiarrhythmic drug therapy and pulmonary vein isolation (PVI), with PVI being recommended for selected patients.

Methods: A single-centre randomized controlled trial was conducted involving 192 participants, allocated to either the intervention or control group. Participants in the intervention group received VR distraction therapy on postoperative days 1, 2 and 3, while the control group received standard postoperative care.
The introduction of wire-free microcirculatory resistance index from functional angiography (angio-IMR) promises swift detection of coronary microvascular dysfunction, however it has not been properly validated. We sought to validate angio-IMR against invasive IMR and PET derived microvascular resistance (MVR). Moreover, we studied if angio-IMR could aid in the detection of ischemia with non-obstructive coronary arteries (INOCA).

A better understanding of the progression of symptoms after COVID-19 is needed to reduce the burden of the post COVID-19 condition.
Objective: This study aims to investigate the progression of symptoms, identify patterns of symptom progression, and assess their associations with patient characteristics.

Objective: Human milk composition is dynamic. While extensive research has focused on its macronutrient concentrations during the first 6 months of lactation, limited research exists for extended lactation periods. This study aims to examine the nutritional composition of human milk during these longer lactation phases.

Aims: The relationship between coronary artery atherosclerosis and microvascular resistance remains unclear. This study aims to clarify the relationship between total atherosclerotic and vessel-specific atherosclerotic burden and microvascular resistance reserve (MRR).
Methods And Results: In this post-hoc analysis of the PACIFIC 1 trial, symptomatic patients without prior coronary artery disease (CAD) underwent [15O]H2O positron emission tomography, coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) and invasive fractional flow reserve (FFR).
Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) and antidepressant medications are both first-line interventions for adult depression, but their relative efficacy in the long term and on outcome measures other than depressive symptomatology is unknown. Individual participant data (IPD) meta-analyses can provide more precise effect estimates than conventional meta-analyses. This IPD meta-analysis compared the efficacy of IPT and antidepressants on various outcomes at post-treatment and follow-up (PROSPERO: CRD42020219891).

This study examined the effectiveness of PM+ in reducing symptoms of common mental disorders at 12-month follow-up among Syrian refugees in the Netherlands.
Methods: This single-blind, parallel, controlled trial randomised 206 adult Syrians who screened positive for psychological distress and impaired functioning to either PM+ in addition to care as usual (PM+/CAU) or CAU alone.
Background: The applicability of quantitative flow ratio (QFR), a nonhyperemic, invasive coronary angiography-derived computation of fractional flow reserve (FFR), has not been studied in coronary artery bypass grafts. We sought to explore the correlation and diagnostic agreement between QFR and FFR in saphenous vein grafts (SVGs).
Methods And Results: A total of 129 prospectively included patients (mean age 73±8 years, 84% male) with prior coronary artery bypass grafting underwent invasive coronary angiography and pressure-derived functional assessment in 150 nonoccluded SVGs.
Background And Objective: A survival benefit was demonstrated for patients with low-volume synchronous metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPCa) when local radiotherapy to the prostate was added to androgen deprivation therapy. This study aims to determine the incidence of prostate cancer-related events and treatments in those who received and those who did not receive external beam radiotherapy for mHSPCa.
Methods: The HORRAD trial is a multicentre randomised controlled trial recruiting originally 432 patients with mHSPCa diagnosed between 2004 and 2014.
Background: There is insufficient evidence to provide recommendations for leisure-time physical activity among workers across various occupational physical activity levels. This study aimed to assess the association of leisure-time physical activity with cardiovascular and all-cause mortality across occupational physical activity levels.
Methods: This study utilized individual participant data from 21 cohort studies, comprising both published and unpublished data.

Introduction: Imaging fibroid vascularity may predict fibroid growth and aid to determine most appropriate therapy. Microvascular (MV) flow imaging is relatively new and is able to detect slow flow in small vessels. Data on feasibility, reproducibility, and reliability of MV-flow imaging in fibroids is lacking.

Summary Answer: More than half of the patients (52%, n = 16/31) had oligozoospermia or azoospermia at 2 years from cHL diagnosis; particularly boys treated for advanced-stage cHL had low sperm counts and motility.
What Is Known Already: Chemotherapy and radiotherapy to the inguinal region or testes can impair spermatogenesis and result in reduced fertility. The EuroNet-PHL-C2 trial aims to minimize radiotherapy in standard childhood cHL treatment, by intensifying chemotherapy.
Objective: Health effects of different physical activity domains (ie, during leisure time, work and transport) are generally considered positive. Using data, we assessed independent associations of occupational and leisure-time physical activity (OPA and LTPA) with all-cause mortality.
Design: Two-stage individual participant data meta-analysis.
Aims: To investigate the location-specific prognostic significance of plaque burden, diameter stenosis and plaque morphology.
Methods And Results: Patients without a documented cardiac history who underwent coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) for suspected coronary artery disease were included. Percentage atheroma volume (PAV), maximum diameter stenosis, and plaque morphology were assessed and classified into proximal, mid, or distal segments of the coronary tree.
The retina is increasingly recognised as a potential source of biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases. Hallmark protein aggregates in the retinal neuronal tissue could be imaged through light non-invasively. Post-mortem studies have already shown the presence of specific hallmark proteins in Alzheimer's disease, primary tauopathies, synucleinopathies and frontotemporal lobar degeneration.

Non-specific effects of methylphenidate treatment, including expectancy and regression to the mean effects, contribute to the overall effect of methylphenidate on attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptoms. Knowledge on the extent to which non-specific effects contribute to the overall effect and whether regression to the mean explains part of the non-specific effects, is currently lacking. A double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, cross-over trial was used to compare parent and teacher ratings of child ADHD symptoms at baseline and during treatment with placebo and 5, 10, 15 and 20 mg of methylphenidate, twice daily.

Methods: Patients with treatment-naïve early rheumatoid arthritis were randomised in the NORD-STAR trial to ACT, certolizumab pegol, abatacept or tocilizumab, all with methotrexate. Centralised laboratory analyses for ACPA, RF and SE were performed.
