Background: Hyperdopaminergic state (HS), especially impulse control behaviors (ICBs), are not rare in Parkinson's disease (PD). Controversial data regarding HS prevalence one year following sub-thalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN-DBS) are reported.
Objective: Our objectives were to describe early postoperative HS (PoOHS) including ICBs, hypomania and psychotic symptoms during the first 3 months following STN-DBS (V1) and their prognosis at 1 year (V2).
Neoplasia-related indicators, such as adenoma detection rate (ADR), are a priority in the quality improvement process for colonoscopy. Our aim was to assess and compare different detection and characterization indicators in fecal immunochemical test (FIT)-positive colonoscopies, to determine associated factors, and to propose benchmarks. Retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data from all colonoscopies performed between 2015 and 2019 after a positive quantitative FIT in the population-based colorectal cancer screening program conducted in Alsace, part of the French national program.

This was a retrospective community- and population-based observational study of all LPs detected in patients aged 50 to 74 years between 2015 and 2019 during FIT-positive colonoscopies within the screening program organized in Alsace (France). Among 13,633 FIT-positive colonoscopies, 1256 LPs (8.

We describe a large series of patients with solid tumors in an early COVID-19 cluster in the eastern part of France. From February to May 2020, this multicenter retrospective study enrolled 212 patients with cancer under treatment or on follow-up for any type of malignant solid tumor and positive for SARS-CoV-2. The mortality rate was 30%.

The purpose was to compare clinical results, sagittal alignment and mechanical complications with both techniques.
Methods: Full spine radiographs were analysed in 97 patients instrumented to the pelvis: 58 2-rod constructs (2R) and 39 4-rod constructs (4R).
Study Design: This was a retrospective observational study.
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate kyphosis and lordosis distribution, inflexion points, and the relationship with proximal junctional kyphosis (PJK) comparing hybrid instrumentation (in situ contouring, derotation) versus screw instrumentation (thoracic cantilever reduction, lumbar in situ contouring, and derotation).
Summary Of Background Data: The combination of reduction techniques aims at restoring the levels of lumbar apex and thoracolumbar inflexion point according to Roussouly alignment types.
Purpose: Several studies demonstrated compromised oral health and periodontal diseases as risk factors for adverse pregnancy outcomes. However, consideration of oral health by pregnant women remains elusive. The aim of this study was to evaluate knowledge and behaviour of French pregnant women towards relationship between oral conditions and pregnancy outcomes and to evaluate influencing factors.

Failure to thrive and growth difficulties are among the most consistent features of CS, leaving affected individuals vulnerable to numerous medical complications, including adverse effects of undernutrition, abrupt overhydration and overfeeding. There is thus a significant need for specific growth charts.

As poor bad-news consultation quality may lead to misunderstandings, lack of treatment adherence, acute or even post-traumatic stress in patients, training interventions to improve communication skills and stress-management are necessary. Mindfulness is a recognised stress-management strategy that has shown its efficacy in reducing stress in both health professionals and students.

However, the effect on adjacent intervertebral discs remains controversial. The purpose of this retrospective study was to analyze the degeneration of the discs adjacent to the fracture and to determine its relationship with age, vertebral body deformity and clinical scores.

We sought to describe the quantitative evolution of health resources in the French health care system, in comparison with demographic and epidemiologic parameters that reflect health needs. Overall, in the last decade, parameters of capacity and human resources stagnated while activity and spending increased jointly, stimulated by ageing of the population and chronic diseases mostly.

Tactile skin sensitivity thresholds are measured with Semmes-Weinstein monofilaments (SWM). This study measured skin sensitivity thresholds in healthy individuals using CBE and SWM, and compared both instruments in territories involved in corneal neurotization.

We have developed a practical training tool - GMRC Shiny stats - an interactive application specifically dedicated to medical data statistical analysis. The application has been designed to provide an analysis workflow corresponding to the usual progression of an experienced statistician during data analysis.

There are several differential diagnoses including idiopathic late-onset cerebellar ataxias (ILOCA) and it is often necessary to wait for clinical worsening so that the criteria can be met. Our aim was to assess the efficacy of clonidine growth hormone test (CGH test) to distinguish MSA-C from ILOCA in the early stage of the disease.

High doses of epinephrine are associated with severe complications. Platelet-activating factor (PAF) is secreted in massive amounts during AS, and a high plasma level is correlated with increased AS severity.

However, neither the incidence nor the prognosis of patients whose stay in intensive care units (ICU) is complicated by a iatrogenic ilio-psoas hematoma is known.
Methods: A bicentric retrospective study was conducted to compile the patients who developed an ilio-psoas hematoma while they were hospitalized in ICU between January 2009 and December 2016.
Aim: In percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)-treated acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients on clopidogrel therapy, high on-treatment platelet adenosine diphosphate (ADP) reactivity was observed in numerous studies, with significant increases in non-fatal myocardial infarction, definite/probable stent thrombosis, or cardiovascular mortality. Compared to clopidogrel, prasugrel and ticagrelor provide more potent platelet inhibition. Whether new P2Y12 inhibitors reduce thrombotic events in a similar manner compared to the rate observed with appropriate P2Y12 inhibition by clopidogrel must still be determined.
