We evaluated a rapid urinary antigen detection kit, Binax Now Streptococcus pneumoniae (Binax Inc., USA), which detects S. pneumoniae antigen in urine by immunochromatographic membrane assay, in 379 patients with presumptive pneumonia (total: 454 urine samples).
