Although the importance of genome organization for transcriptional regulation of cell-fate decisions and function is clear, the changes in chromatin architecture and how these impact effector and memory CD8 T cell differentiation remain unknown. Using Hi-C, we studied how genome configuration is integrated with CD8 T cell differentiation during infection and investigated the role of CTCF, a key chromatin remodeler, in modulating CD8 T cell fates through CTCF knockdown approaches and perturbation of specific CTCF-binding sites. We observed subset-specific changes in chromatin organization and CTCF binding and revealed that weak-affinity CTCF binding promotes terminal differentiation of CD8 T cells through the regulation of transcriptional programs.

Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) guidelines have been incorporated across surgical specialties supported by the publication of evidence-based guidelines. The purpose of this research was to explore adherence to such guidelines among Canadian thoracic surgeons with respect to esophagectomy. A standardized questionnaire was developed comprising 43 validated ERAS recommendations.

In this work, we created a set of structured hashtags with key opinion leaders in radiation oncology, and we report on their use after two years post-deployment.
Materials/methods: Hashtags were created, voted on, and refined by crowdsourcing 38 international experts, including physicians, physicists, patients, and organizations from North America, Europe, and Australia.
The differentiation of naïve CD8 cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) into effector and memory states results in large scale changes in transcriptional and phenotypic profiles. Little is known about how large-scale changes in genome organisation reflect or underpin these transcriptional programs. We utilised Hi-C to map changes in the spatial organisation of long-range genome contacts within naïve, effector and memory virus-specific CD8 T cells.

Mature non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL) in the childhood, adolescent and young adult (CAYA) population are rare and exhibit unique clinical, immunophenotypic and genetic characteristics. The objective of this research is 3 fold: i) to evaluate the relationship of the clinical delivery of cannabinoid-based medicine for anxiety, depression and sleep scores by utilizing machine learning specifically rough set methods; ii) to discover patterns based on patient features such as specific cannabinoid recommendations, diagnosis information, decreasing/increasing levels of clinical assessment tools (CAT) scores over a period of time; and iii) to predict whether new patients could potentially experience either an increase or decrease in CAT scores. Introduction: There has been a groundswell of discussion and activism surrounding gender diversity. Given the growing importance of this issue, a working group was established under the Faculty of Radiation Oncology (FRO) of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists' (RANZCR) Economics and Workforce Committee (EWC) to review the current status of gender diversity within radiation oncology (RO) in Australia and New Zealand.
Methods: De-identified data were provided from two recent FRO workforce censuses conducted in 2014 and 2018 with permission from the EWC.
Objectives: To investigate how quickly evidence was incorporated into the Australian living guidelines for COVID-19 during the first 12 months of the pandemic.
Study Design And Setting: For each study concerning drug therapies included in the guideline from April 3, 2020 to April 1, 2021, we extracted the publication date of the study, and the guideline version the study was included in. We analyzed two subgroups of studies as follows: those published in high impact factor journals and those with 100 or more participants.
Background: During infectious diseases, pro-inflammatory cytokines transiently destabilize interactions between adjacent vascular endothelial cells (ECs) to facilitate the passage of immune molecules and cells into tissues. However, in the lung the resulting vascular hyperpermeability can lead to organ dysfunction. Previous work identified the transcription factor ERG as a master regulator of endothelial homeostasis.
