Growing teratoma syndrome (GTS) is characterized by a reduction in serum tumor markers despite the growth of a benign mature teratomatous mass following chemotherapy for germ cell tumors. Gliomatosis peritonei (GP) typically accompanies ovarian teratomas, marked by the dissemination of mature glial tissue across the peritoneum. The concurrent presence of GTS and GP after treatment for ovarian immature teratoma (IMT) is notably rare, with approximately 20 reported cases.

In our study, the protective role of synthetic aromatase inhibitors anastrozole (ANS), letrozole (LTZ) and exemestane (EXM) and natural aromatase inhibitors resveratrol (RSV) and apigenin (APG) against testicular failure caused by exposure to Bisphenol A (BPA) was investigated. The epididymal sperm concentration, sperm motility and sperm morphology were determined. Oxidative stress and inflammatory response parameters were examined and histological examinations were performed in testicular tissues.

Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common cardiac rhythm disorder associated with hemodynamic disruptions and thromboembolic events. While antiarrhythmic drugs are often recommended as the initial treatment, catheter ablation has emerged as a viable alternative. However, the recurrence of AF following ablation remains a challenge, and there is growing interest in exploring inflammatory markers as predictors of recurrence.

Objective: It is unclear whether lower limb and trunk fatigue leads to different effects. Although some studies have compared the effects of muscle fatigue on balance and performance in healthy individuals, little is known about its effects on skin temperature. This study aimed to compare the effects of lower limb and trunk fatigue on balance, performance, and skin temperature in healthy males.

Article Synopsis
  • The study focuses on analyzing Pap smear results that show atypical glandular cells, not otherwise specified (AGC-NOS), to identify potential cervical and endometrial lesions.
  • A total of 254 women who had AGC-NOS results and subsequently underwent colposcopy were reviewed, revealing that around 27.6% had premalignant or malignant lesions, including 6.7% with actual malignancies.
  • The findings suggest that careful evaluation of patients with AGC-NOS is crucial, with a recommendation for colposcopic examination and potential endometrial sampling to detect any underlying cancers.

We aimed to evaluate whether adjuvant radiotherapy had a survival benefit for patients with early-stage cervical carcinoma with intermediate-risk factors. This study included patients who underwent radical hysterectomy and lymphadenectomy according to Wertheim-Okabayashi for stage IB1-IIA2 cervical carcinoma. Each patient had at least one intermediate-risk factor including tumour diameter ≥4 cm, deep stromal invasion, and positive lymphovascular space invasion (LVSI).

We investigated the association between preoperative ratios of inflammatory markers and the prognosis in patients with invasive cervical cancer (CC). In this single-centre study, we retrospectively enrolled 163 CC patients who underwent radical hysterectomy between February 2008 and October 2018. Among the evaluated ratios, a high neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (N/L) was significantly associated with deep stromal invasion and tumour size larger than 2 cm, whereas a high M/L was significantly related to advanced-stage CC (IB3-IIIC2), lymphatic metastasis (total) and pelvic lymph node metastasis (= .
