Introduction: The workload of physicians increased due to the number of patients presenting with suspicion of coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) and the prolonged wait times in the emergency department during the COVID-19 pandemic. Signal peptide-CUB-EGF domain-containing protein 1 (SCUBE-1) is a protein present in platelets and endothelial cells; it is activated by inflammation from COVID-19 and may be associated with COVID-19's known thrombotic risk. We aimed to determine whether SCUBE-1 levels are diagnostically correlated in suspected COVID-19 patients, and whether SCUBE-1 correlated with severity of disease and, therefore, might be useful to guide hospitalization/discharge decisions.

Materials And Methods: Non-traumatic out-of-hospital CA patients were included in this prospective, nested case-control study. Standard CPR and post-resuscitative care were applied.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of berberine (BBR) on oxidative stress in an experimental testicular I/R injury model.
Methods: Eighteen rats were divided into three groups: control group, torsion-detorsion (T/D) group, and BBR + T/D group. In the pre-treatment of the BBR group, 200 mg/kg BBR was given intraperitoneally 30 min before detorsion.

The purpose of this study was to investigate changes in IMA levels caused by generalized clonic tonic (GTC) seizures.
Materials And Methods: A total of 114 children presenting to the Karadeniz Technical Pediatric Emergency Polyclinic with GTC seizures were included in the study.
Study Objective: To assess the effectiveness of nebulized fentanyl used for analgesia in renal colic.
Materials/methods: This research was planned as a randomized, blinded study in which prospectively collected data were analyzed retrospectively to compare nebulized and intravenous (iv) fentanyl therapies. Patients with renal colic with 'moderate' or worse pain on a four-point verbal pain score (VPS) or with pain of 20mm or above on a 100-mm visual analogue score (VAS) at time of presentation were randomized into iv fentanyl (n=62) or nebulized fentanyl (n=53) study groups.

Methods: This study was planned as a randomized, controlled clinical research. Patients undergoing contrast-enhanced CTPA on suspicion of pulmonary embolism (PE) in the emergency department and with at least one risk factor for development of CIN were included in one of three different prophylaxis groups.

Methods: Four groups of 7 female Wister rats were established. The first was a sham group, the second an electrical burn control group receiving 600 V, the third group received NAC therapy of 20 mg/kg 1 hour after 600 V electrical burn, and the fourth group received 50 mg/kg EP 1 hour after 600 V electrical burn.
Background: Mad honey-related intoxication frequently leads to bradycardia, hypotension, and syncope. Hypothermia is a potentially life-threatening condition if not identified early and treated appropriately.
Case Report: Three patients are reviewed.
Background And Objective: Intoxications related to "mad honey" are frequently encountered in the Black Sea region of Turkey. Intoxication is established on the basis of whether honey was consumed when history was taken at presentation. The search for a simple and reliable method for showing the grayanotoxins (GTXs) in mad honey in body fluids and in honey consumed by patients is still at the research stage.
