Objective: Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are neurodevelopmental disorders of early childhood which are characterized by limited social-emotional reciprocity and restricted, repetitive patterns of interest and behaviors. The pathophysiology of ASD has not been fully elucidated. Dysregulation of circadian rhythm and melatonin might play a role in ASD pathogenesis.

Background: Environmental factors, including elemental homeostasis, have not been studied sufficiently in neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD). This study aims to compare the status of 13 elements in blood and deciduous teeth dentine of children having an autism spectrum disorder or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder with typically developing controls.
Methods: Elements including calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc, copper, chromium, manganese, mercury, lead, cadmium, molybdenum, and strontium in both deciduous teeth and blood were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.
Background: Adolescents with eating disorders (EDs) may present not only with abnormal eating behaviors but also with abnormal drinking behaviors varying widely. These behaviors include water loading to cheat on weight measurements, to feel full and suppress appetite and/or to induce vomiting; as well as restricting fluid intake in addition to food.
Method: We present a 16-year-old female adolescent with anorexia nervosa restrictive type and major depressive disorder who was hospitalized due to acute food refusal and developed generalized seizures due to dilutional hyponatremia in consequence of consuming excessive amount of water.

Methods: Twenty-one 4-to-6-year-old children with ADHD and 52 children with no psychopathology, matched on age, gender, socioeconomic status, and parental education, were enrolled. Introduction: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is a common impairing neuropsychiatric disorder with onset in early childhood. Method: Two hundred forty five expecting mothers and 150 expecting fathers were first interviewed between the 22-34 weeks of pregnancy. Sociodemografic data form, Adult Attachment Style Scale (AASS), State Anxiety Inventory (SAI), Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) and Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI) were filled out by each expecting parent.
Identity and attachment are two concepts of different theories that might be related and that are developmentally very important in adolescence. The aim of this study was to explore the sense of identity, attachment styles and their relation in a group of adolescents with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The aim of this study was to examine clinical outcomes, psychiatric comorbidity and neuropsychological characteristics in Turkish adolescents with an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) diagnosis in childhood. A total of 45 children with ADHD diagnosis and 28 children with a psychiatric diagnosis other than ADHD in a 1-year cohort of 7-10-year-olds were reevaluated 6 years later using Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia for School-Age Children Present and Lifetime version and Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised and Stroop Test TBAG version. This study shows that the clinical outcomes and the comorbidity patterns for ADHD from childhood to adolescence in Turkey are similar to reported rates in the Western countries.
