Objective: This study aims to determine the prevalence of neuropathy in the prediabetic period.
Design Subjects And Method: Informed consent was attained from the patients who volunteered to participate in the study after ethics committee approval was obtained. Patients under the age of 18, having vitamin B12 or folic acid deficiency, history of collagen tissue-rheumatological disease, chronic kidney failure, cirrhosis, ethylism, thyroid disease, autoimmune disease, malignancy, tuberculosis, type 1 or 2 diabetes mellitus and pregnant women were excluded from the study.
Background: The use of high-sensitivity troponin levels increases the sensitivity of the diagnosis of non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). However, the inclusion of other factors in the differential diagnosis, apart from atherothrombosis causing myocardial injury, decreases the specificity of high-sensitivity troponin. In this study, we compared the efficacy of high-sensitivity troponin with serum oncostatin M in NSTEMI cases with elevated urea and creatinine.

Objective: Past three years since the beginning of the outbreak, we have obtained satisfactory data on COVID-19. However, data on risk factors of COVID-19-associated coagulopathy (CAC) are extremely limited. Prediction of CAC might be a game changer since it is related to poor prognosis.

This study aimed to investigate the antibody responses of health workers who initially received two doses of CoronaVac one month apart followed by a booster dose of either CoronaVac or BNT162b2, as well as determine whether either vaccine provided superior results.
Methods: This research represents the second phase of a mixed-methods vaccine cohort study and was conducted between July 2021 and February 2022.
Aims: In this study, we aimed to demonstrate the effectiveness of serum amino-terminal proCNP (NT-proCNP) levels in predicting coronary heart disease (CHD) and cardiovascular risk in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients.
Methods: We recruited 73 patients with T2DM in the study. Additionally, we grouped the patients according to their status of diabetic retinopathy (DR) as no DR, non-proliferative DR, or proliferative DR.

Oxidative stress (OS), which leads to DNA damage, plays a role in the pathogenesis of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). We aimed to evaluate the role of DNA repair gene variants [X-ray repair cross complementing 4 () rs28360071, rs6869366, and X-ray cross-complementary gene 1 ( rs25487] in susceptibility to COVID-19 in a Turkish population. We also evaluated its effect on the clinical course of the disease.

In addition to comparing the global DNA and SOCS1 gene promoter methylation status between our patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and healthy controls, this study demonstrates the effect of the SOCS1 rs33989964 polymorphism on patients with COVID-19. The study group included 139 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in our hospital's clinics between June and December 2020, and the control group included 78 healthy individuals.

No study to date has investigated the association between serum endocan levels, as a biomarker of endothelial inflammation, and vitamin D levels in the absence of subclinical atherosclerosis detected by carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) in healthy individuals.
Patients And Methods: Subjects were categorized into three groups based on vitamin D levels according to Endocrine Society guidelines.
Background: Patients with prediabetes have an increased risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease; therefore, early detection is important.
Objective: The present study aimed to reveal the usability of serum endocan levels as a biomarker in the diagnosis of subclinical atherosclerosis in patients with prediabetes, based on CIMT measurements.
Methods: Participants were classified according to the presence (n=42) or absence (n=42) of prediabetes.
Background: While there are substantial reports on the acute phase of Covid-19, the data on post-Covid phase are limited.
Aim: To report the data on older post-Covid patients comparatively with the young adults.
Study Design: Retrospective, single-center study in post-Covid outpatient clinic.
Mannose-binding lectin 2 (MBL2) is a serine protease which is believed to be an important factor in the inherited immune system. In this article, we present a coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) family of five patients: a 56-year-old father, a 51-year-old mother, two sons aged 23 and 21 years, and a 15-year-old daughter. According to the results of variant analysis performed, the father had homozygous mutant, the mother had homozygous normal, and the three children had heterozygous mutant genotype.

Methods: The study comprised 604 patients (360 men and 244 women) with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection admitted to Emergency Department of Istanbul Faculty of Medicine between March 15 and April 15, 2020. The variations in the concentration of coagulation tests and inflammatory markers were observed from the admission to hospital to the 10th day with three-day periods.
Objective: Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) coronavirus 2 (SaRS-Cov-2) associated respiratory disease (COVID-19), announced as a pandemic, is a multisystem syndrome. SARS-CoV-2 directly infects and damages vascular endothelial cells, which leads to microvascular dysfunction and promotes a procoagulant state. Dipyridamole (DP) acts as a reversible phosphodiesterase inhibitor and is used mainly as an antiplatelet agent.

In clinical trials, low-molecular-weight heparin was administered via a specially designed soft-mist inhaler device in an investigator initiated, single-center, open-label, phase-IIb clinical trial. Patients with evidently worse clinical presentations were classed as the "Device Group"; 40 patients were given low-molecular-weight heparin via a soft mist inhaler at a dose of 4000 IU per administration, twice a day.

Material And Method: When the patients' participation in the study were completed, smoking or alcohol drinking conditions, and family history were recorded. Their weights and heights were recorded and body mass index (BMI) was calculated.
Background: Laminin, one of the largest glycoproteins of the basement membrane, is an important component of the extracellular matrix. Functions of the basement membrane include regulation of cell signaling behaviors and structural support. Laminin plays a critical role in the regulation of insulin action in muscle, liver, and adipose tissue.

This expert panel aimed to provide a practical and implementable guidance document to assist clinicians in prescribing IDegAsp in the diabetes management with respect to different patient populations including children and adults with type 1 diabetes (T1D) or type 2 diabetes (T2D) as well as pregnant, elderly and hospitalized patients and varying practice patterns (insulin-naive, insulin-treated, switching from basal, basal bolus and premix regimens). The experts recommended that IDegAsp can be used in insulin-naive T2D patients with poor glycemic control (HbA1c >8.
