Background: Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is the third most common cause of acute renal failure in hospitalized patients and is an important cause of prolonged hospital stay, morbidity, and mortality. We aimed to investigate the effectiveness and sufficiency of the prognostic capacity of the inflammatory biomarkers C-reactive Protein (CRP) and albumin ratio (CAR) in predicting the development of CIN in patients undergoing contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) imaging in the emergency department (ED).
Methods: This study was performed on patients whose laboratory values could be reached within 48 hours after contrast-enhanced CT imaging in the emergency department of our hospital.
Background: Electric scooters (e-scooters) have become popular within a short time. With its growing popularity, the number of admissions to emergency services due to e-scooter injuries has also increased. In this study, we aimed to analyze the clinical and demographic characteristics of e-scooter injuries applied to our emergency department.
