B-90063, a novel endothelin converting enzyme inhibitor isolated from a new marine bacterium, Blastobacter sp. SANK 71894.

A novel endothelin-converting enzyme (ECE) inhibitor, B-90063, was isolated from the culture supernatant of the newly discovered marine bacterium Blastobacter sp. SANK 71894. Based on spectral analyses and chemical reactions, the structure of B-90063 was determined to be bis[6-formyl-4-hydroxy-2-(2'-n-pentyloxazol-4'-yl)-4-pyridon -3-yl]-disulfide (1a).

[A case of uretero-aortic fistula].

We report a case of uretero-aortic fistula. A 69-year-old man with rectal cancer underwent a pelvic exenteration and a double--barreled cutaneous ureterostomy in the right lower abdomen. Stomal stenosis necessitated continuous indwelling of double J stents in the two ureters.

[A case of hydrocephalus with hypacusis due to hemangioblastoma].

A case of a brain stem hemangioblastoma with recurrent episodes of hypacusis due to progression of hydrocephalus is reported. The patient was a 25-year-old female, admitted to the department of otorhinolaryngology with complaints of hearing difficulty, headache and blurred vision. Neuroradiological studies showed a tumor from the medulla oblongata, obliterating the IVth ventricle, and a secondary hydrocephalus.
