Fine tuning of micropillar cavity modes through repetitive oxidations.

Repetitive wet thermal oxidations of a tapered oxide aperture in a micropillar structure are demonstrated. After each oxidation step the confined optical modes are analyzed at room temperature. Three regimes are identified.
